Mel Karmazin Buys $4.5M in Stock

According to a new SEC filing, SIRIUS CEO Mel Karmazin purchased 1 million shares of SIRIUS stock Tuesday, valued at nearly $4.5 million.

This isn’t the first vote of confidence by Karmazin. In January he put his own money on the line, buying a million shares for $6.21 each.

He also bought a million shares right after he was hired back in late 2004. I believe the price was around $5.36

So today's purchase is the third on the open market of a million shares or more by Mel
  4. Well I am convinced that Mel believes in SIRIUS. I think this should really boost those on the fence. Mel has done a damn good job with SIRIUS.

Now if Sirius could just unhitch itself from all of XM garbage.
  6. So, Mel's got some in the 6's, 5's, and now the 4's. Ah yes. From what I saw, today's buy was for his 401k. He's a long termer. Go Mel, go!
  7. In today's world of stocks and company CEOs, there exists a perception of fraud among the people due to events that led to the collapse of ENRON.

Insider trading, fraud, bogus investor information and a litany of other issues related to the shady side of business.

Mel's purchase is more of an attempt to show he has faith in Sirius by making large investments for the long term payoff.

Building confidence among the investment community by taking the lead.
