The Tapes Are Coming Home…Today

In 1906 the first radio broadcast took place from Brant Rock, Mass.  People marveled at the invention, amazed that they could hear a voice so far away.  But that became boring, something was missing…

What was missing you ask?
Drunks, midgets, retards, and strippers my friends.

The solution: Howard Stern.
Howard broadcasted on radio stations from WCCC in Hartford to WNBC in NYC.  None of them, however, made him more famous than his 20 year stay at KROCK.  Fans will remember the Jackie Puppet (and anything Billy West), Hank The Angry Dwarf, Get John’s Job, Underdog Lady, Baba Booey looses the Gary puppet, and so much more.  All of these classic moments were recorded and fans anticipated the day they could hear them once again, uncensored.  Unfortunately, the suits at CBS Radio wouldn’t let go.  There the tapes sat, waiting for daylight, waiting to once again be enjoyed by the masses.

Enter Sirius Satellite Radio, the company that would bring the tapes home.  A not so threatening lawsuit by CBS Radio ends in a settlement that would allow Sirius to broadcast Stern’s 20 years at KROCK for ONLY 2 million dollars, a steal.  The staff at The Howard Stern Show have been working endless hours to bring the tapes back to life UNCENSORED, and they are ready to come….home.

Listen starting at 3 PM ET this Friday to midnight Monday night (Labor Day).
