Channel Updates Update
Sirius DJ and BackStager “Long Paul” has reported 2 updates to the channel changes coming next Wednesday. First, he informs us that the 90’s Rock station will be called Frequency 24, but will not debut until March 31st. You can imagine where it will be on your dial. He also announced that 29 will be the long-awaited, and much requested punk channel.
This news is obviously developing, expect more updates as Wednesday approaches!
Update: Apparently the “90’s Rock” stations debut is being delayed until the end of March, so that The Who Channel has a home through the end of their tour.

I think this will be great...unless they load up on Alice In Chains, Nirvana, STP, and Soundgarden where you hear one of their songs every hour. That will not turn me on to the new station - and I love those bands. A few more random songs that were hits for just a little while would make the station great.
I'm psyched for the 90s weekend though; I hope it's a good primer. by Mercer Boy

Give me a break. Take this shitty Who channel off the air ASAP. The whole station is one big advirtisement for their tour. Yeah, Sirius has 100% commercial free music....except when the entire channel is a commerical
Maybe by 2008, all the single artists channels will be off the air. by DJChrisz84
Any word if the Sinatra channel is coming Tuesday or not until 3/31? by dlr5150
I don't get Lucy sometimes. They play stuff like Seal and UB40 in addition to all the 90's alt rock. It doesn't really fit the playlist. I hope Sirius' version is programmed better. Hell, I'll take more repeats if I don't have to hear stuff like Seal's "Crazy." by DJChrisz84

Hi folks,
I thought I'd comment a bit on the upcoming channel changes in Canada. Next week, we're going to be making a few changes, based both on feedback from you folks, and new opportunities from south of the border.
Next week we will add a new 90's Rock channel on #24, we'll add the Met Opera channel on #85, we're going to add 2 new Play-by-Play channels in order to offer more live sports than ever before, and we'll be turning up the long awaited "Foxxhole", Jamie Foxx's new channel which will change the face of radio, again, forever. I'll make sure somebody on my side of things posts the links here, but we wanted you guys to know first.
Here's the "bad" news...to make room for these channels, we're going to lose a few as well. Hot Jamz is going, ABC News & Talk, ESPN Deportes, and EWTN Catholic Channel are going. In Canada, The Who Channel is also leaving in order to launch the 90's Rock channel on #24. You folks have had a significant role in making these decisions based on the listener feedback study you completed last year.
For sure, some people are going to be displeased at some of the decisions...I suspect I'll be hearing it from the Hot Jamz fans out there. But, we also took into consideration the fact that similar content would still be available on channels like Soul Town, and our other R&B stations. Same is true for ABC News...similar content is available on BBC, CBC, Bloomberg, CNN, MSNBC, etc.
My hope is that The Met Opera Channel is a big hit...same for 90's Rock and Foxxhole. Please let me know what you think. I know that Grandmacaprio doesn't think we have much influence over these things, but I can tell you, I'm sitting in New York right now, and they are fascinated by your feedback and are hungry for more. They don't yet have a Soundboard, so they're keen to hear from you.
In other news, we'll also be carrying 9 of the 10 pit-to-car Nascar channels...I know, I know...why not all 10. It's incredibly difficult for the programming folks to schedule all of the play-by-play action on solely the channels that we carry in Canada. Simply because, we don't carry the US traffic and weather channels that the US does, and that they often use for play-by-play coverage. 9 was the best we could pull off...and I think it will satisfy most people (well, at least 90%
Finally, Sinatra. Standard Time is going to change in name, to SIRIUSly Sinatra. But it's not just going to be Sinatra...envision Standard Time with a little more Frank breathed into it, a little more Rat Pack, by Chris245
