Looks like it became the 4th AND 5th of July special.........
  2. What a complete and utter bore-fest. I'm not a huge fan of guests on the show, but especially musical guest. Even then, I can take a song now and then in the context of the show. However, just days and days of in-studio performances is so boring. I'd rather them pluck and MTT and play it.

If I wanted to hear straight music, there are 100 other stations on Sirius to fill that need...

I enjoyed the music programming YESTERDAY! I wouldn't have listened so much yesterday if I knew I was going to hear the same thing today. There were a bunch of great performances, but I was expecting Mammary Lane this morning.

I thought I was hearing things... is it really the same thing today?? Lame. I liked yesterday but I'm not going to listen to it again. I downloaded Bubba's show from yesterday so that's what I'll be listening to.
  6. I listened for about 30 seconds ... ran into Sting singing "on and on ... and on ... and on ... and on."

In the words of Vampire Willow: "Bored now."

I've been listening to the Roadhouse ever since.
  7. I was very disappointed to hear this on 100 & 101 during my commute to work this morning. Not a bad idea for a Holiday, but give us a repeat (when Howard is off) on a regular day.
  8. I pretty much did the unthinkable today... I switched over to regular terrestrial radio , cuz I gotta have my talk radio in the morning... music is more of an afternoon-drive/evening thing for me..

cant wait until howard returns... takei is back!!
  9. You know when Howard gets back he will read 10 email praising the music special and how incredible it was. This will, in turn, give John Hein free reign to torture us again with even more obscure music.

Funny, I listened to terrestrial radio today as well...for the first time in a long time. Not that I'm against music, I just want to listen to what I like...not has beens doing Beatles cover songs.

I didn't get quite desperate enough for terrestrial radio. I did, however, throw a couple SModcasts on my Stiletto to listen to on the drive to and from work yesterday and today.
  11. I was so bored with the Howard channels this morning, I switched over to NPR and listened to an interview with Neil Sedaka. I'm sorry to say it was better radio than this lame musical retrospective. I understand the vacations, but why can't Howard work AN OCCASIONAL FRIDAY?

A half-billion dollar contract in the back pocket is amazingly effective at putting out the fire in the belly.
  13. wow, i was totally suprised by everyones posts. i loved the music special. every time i have been in the car over the past two days i have heard at least one tune that i got into. last night i was at a concert and during the set break i went to the car and listened for like 40 mins and enjoyed how i was able to flip over to 101 if 100 had something i didnt like. the special is nothing i would make a point to record but i did find it fun listening.

  14. I listened in the morning and when I heard a song I didn't like I would just flip it over to the opposite H100/101 channel. I'm still trying to figure out if having Frank Zappa in studio to perform Louie Louie is pure genius OR if it's the most retarded thing you could have Zappa do. I think it's a little bit of both. Another thing that cracked me (not so much the girlfriend) was the Loser's playing "Wipeout" on the Magic Johnson show. That was brilliant!

I'm gonna have to choose Bubba.

The point everyone is trying to make is it was cool YESTERDAY.With over 25yrs of shows there should have been an MTT show today.

yea i hear ya man but i have yet to hear a repeat. with 24 full hours im kinda happy it was played twice so i could catch some of the shit i missed yesterday.

  17. Yesterday I listened to one of the best shows from 2005. It was the May 5th show. It featured a very disgruntled Beetlejuice who wanted absolutely nothing to do with Gilbert Gottfried.

    It was goo fer me.
  18. I liked it. It was a nice change of pace. i like that they are willing to try different things instead of locking into one replay type. I hope there is some extras in the Roast shows and not just a replay of those days. We'll see. I would be more excited about Roast Week if they hadn't replayed the hell out of them in the past.

It was cool to be able to jump to 101 if I didn't care for a song or had already heard it, but it sucks that H101 never seems to get PDT info. It was great on Thursday when I switched to H101 and saw Bubba was on. Good times, good times...
