OutQ’s Larry Flick Had the Wrong Material, Girl and Flubs Madonna’s Album Title and Release Date.

Larry Flick from Sirius OutQ has reportedly given inaccurate information on Madonna’s new album. On Thursday, he made news around the world when he announced that the title would be Licorice, and would be released in Late April. According to the UK’s Channel 4, Madonna has denied that the album would be called Licorice, and said that the release date was wrong.

Liz Rosenberg, a spokesman for Madonna’s label Warner Records, said “Sirius does not know what they are talking about.”

BTW: That’s the best I can do for punny headlines. Hopefully it is a one-time deal

  1. This is very dissapointing as a Madonna fan for Liz Rosenberg to say something like "Sirius doesn't know what it's talking about" and not indentify just this Larry Flick!

This means when it comes to promotion Madonna might avoid Sirius like the plague (if the merger doesn't go through, she might focus her attention on XM!). It doesn't put the bueiness in the best light but as a huge Madonna fan, I'm more dissapointed by what she does or doesn't do on Sirius now. Before this, she did an exclusive interview with him that got worldwide attention but now it looks like all goodwill might be gone.

I have nothing against the gay station but I never listen to it. I just hope Madonna and Liz realize there are a lot of other stations that would welcome her with open arms.
  2. I'm surprised one of the half dozen listeners of the Morning Show heard the mistake...

I don't listen (I'm all Stern in the morning and sometimes during the day) but did hear about this on a Prince message board. Apparently other sources like Billboard picked up on the story. Just suchs that they are blaming Sirius as a whole.
