Sirius today applied for repeater permits for 15 new repeaters. If approved(almost certainly will be), they will go in various places across the country, including Philadelphia, Sacramento, Washington DC, and others. List of proposed addresses of the repeaters in the first reply under ‘comments’

  2. I know that NJ has a couple of repeaters... I live near the one in Trenton but am unable to get any benefit for it. Somerset County is a HUGE suburb and it would be fantastic to see one put in near all of these homes/businesses.
  3. But better news would be a much higher number of repeaters being installed.

I live in Westchester NY and reception is spotty at best in the car and at home.

What!?!.....Whats in "Bensalem" thats so cool that they decided to put a repeater their? What just because its sandwiched in between Philly and Trenton?.....PLEASE!.....Thats not a good enough reason, And as for you stingray66.....You just take that comment and get out of here.....Mister!
  7. I wish they'd re-activate the inactive ones they already have, like the one supposedly here in Idaho thats inactive and pointed the wrong direction.

Agreed!!! The repeater here in Harrisburg has been down for...like Years!!!
  9. I was going to say the exact same thing. Lets get the ones that are inactive going before they install new ones!!!!
  10. What is the range of a repeater about 15-20 miles if that? The reason I ask this, is because the nearest one to me is located about 100 miles North in Columbus, Ohio.

About 20 miles I think. I work about 20 miles away and get a pretty good signal - two bars, but rarely three ( with a drop-out every couple of hours or so). I live about 25-30 miles away from the repeater and have a hard time getting any signal.

Thanks derek1079 that answers that. Sure would be nice to get one further South from you in my neck of the woods.
  13. Is there a list of current addresses of Sirius repeaters?
  14. http://www.dogstarradio.com/sirius_map.php
This will give you latitude and longitude. You can put the coordinates into Google Earth or another like program. I don't know of a site that shows street addresses, though there probably is one.
  15. what the function of a repeater?
  16. A repeater is supposed to provide a terrestrial signal in the bigger cities, especially where there's a lot of tunnels and overpasses.
