Default Idea for the 'Album' category...

As many here know, SIRI doesn't display the Album on their systems. I was thinking that they could change it to 'year' and display the year the specific version of the song was first released. Several times I have been in the car with others and the year a song came out has been argued, and sometimes I just wonder to myself, especially when listening to the decades channels and thinking stuff like 'I thought this song was 80s', etc.

So what do people think? Good idea/bad idea/what?

You know I was thinking the same thing just this weekend.

Album , date, record label.

I wish I could continuously scroll Artist, Title and Album info. I don't know whether that's a Sirius or head unit issue.

My Clarion unit has an R-TEXT choice after Artist that is always blank.

I think it is a good idea to, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice bandwidth or a price increase for such a luxury

I used to like when VH1 would include the year in the video credits. I think that is a good idea that wouldn't require much resources.

I don't know if bandwidth would be that big of a deal. The information for Category, Station, Title and Artist are already provided but you need to find and hit that damn little button and hold it for x seconds while tooling down the highway.

I miss the big buttons and the Hellen Keller fonts of my GM radio.

Sirius has had the capability to provide Album info, it's just they dont broadcast it. I guess it keeps the bandwidth higher. You can find the feature on the kenwood kcar70fm fm modulator but it doesnt show anything.

I don't know how it's done but I'd assume the information is downloaded once with every song and then stored in your headunit or in the receiveer until it's refreshed with the next song. I just can't see how adding that info would be a bandwidth hog when it's compared to everything that's already being sent.
