Default Cancelled XM this morning...now COMPLETELY with the Dog!

Even though I enjoyed my XM experience, the H2A is much better for me, so this morning I sold my SKYFi and cancelled XM.

I still believe that XM is good as well, and we need to support our industry as a whole. Still, I started with Sirius in the beginning, and they fit my personal tastes (and that of my wife) much better. The issues I had with them are being addressed, and I feel more connected with the Sirius community, thanks in part to this site.

And it fits the pocketbook better as well, with the new $6.99 additional subscription.

The prodigal son has returned...

I just became a Sirius sub this afternoon too! I still have XM and don't know whether to cancel it or not. I do like Sirius a lot better though. The Big 80's channel is just like listening to the radio back in the 80's. The Stream Jockeys make it so much better, doesn't sound like a jukebox.

How funny! XM officially lost me as a subscriber today too! Today was the end of my 6 month commitment on my F&F SKYFi! Although, I havn't had the radio in two months, I can say that I too no longer have XM today!

i don't know, i think i may be switching to xm after my contract is done to see how their service is. imo sirius needs to organize their songs better and then start replacing/making new channels.

like on octane, i hear maybe two songs i like but then a number of completely unknown artists/songs. they should have it split up with modern rock and modern rock hits or something. theres really too much great music for me to have to sit through a bunch of unknown songs which suck. split em up!

same goes for a couple other stations i go through like alt nation, i hear nin playing then the next song is a totally different variety/beat of music, needs to be organized better. make a hard rock hits channel that plays metallic, sound garden, nin, etc, don't mix these songs in with completely different types of music. not that i really hear any metallica, soung garden, etc playing to begin with-probably on hard attack with hours of crappy/unknown metal music mixed in.

i like how the big 80's is setup, they play a lot of great music from the 80's-not a bunch of unknow artists from the 80's. now where is a similiarly setup 90's channel? the pulse is like a bandaid trying to make people happy with the limited 90's they play. usually, daily, when i turn on the pulse i hear this daniel bedington song, drives me crazy and then i switch to us1 and the same damn song is playing. very annoying. us1 should be todays hits, channel 2 should be 90's hits, they shouldn't be playing the same music at all.

thats all for now. :|

Get thee to a car with an XM equipped friend.

XM is KNOWN for its very eclectic music choices. If you don't like unfamiliar music, you are making a big mistake.

Trust me. I know this all too well.

Great to have you back on board! Whether you choose Sirius or XM, if you're a satellite radio fan, you want both to survive. Competition will make them both better.

Terrestrial radio? What's that? If I didn't follow local sports, I'd probably have no use for it.

Thank you for the suggestions, and I'm sorry you aren't completely satisfied with Sirius.

I will say from my experience with XM (no heat please), Sirius is much more hits-based on their programming. XM channels typically will go all over the board, an play a LOT of obscure music. Not that this is necessarily bad (it's all personal taste), but Sirius programming will play more recognizable hits, with a hint of different music here and there to keep it mixed up...

And remember the commercials on many XM channels, like Squizz...

Keeping XM until August because it's installed in the truck and I'm taking a long trip.

After that, I'm relcutantly cancelling XM until my Sirius year ends. Not selling the SkyFi though. I shall go with whoever has the content lead at any particular time and will probably be switching every so often.

It's unfortunate I'm dumping XM because as I've pretty much hinted at in the Sirius Vs XM threads, I like XM a lot more than Sirius and prefer the content and programming methods over there. The other unfortunate thing is that I got sat radio for the boombox so I could take it to bed (I was having huge sleeping problems) and listen to 103. Since Sirius doesn't even have a boombox, I can't take it to bed very easily, and thus my original reason for being interested in sat radio is made null. :\

In short, I'm very disappointed with Sirius (as things currently are, they could always improve) but am keeping it because of the year F&F contract, duh. I just can't afford both services at once.

Giving up XM isn't going to feel like giving up my firstborn or anything, but it's going to feel fairly stupid seeing that I'm going back to trying to fall asleep in front of a television again. CNN just doesn't work as well as Audio Visions.
