Default Music Breakdown

I would love to see a Forum that breaks down the music catagories for review, i.e. Pop, Rock...

I think by breaking it down it would be easier to post and easier to review music stream reviews. Just a thought.

I know my first recommendation is to incorporate a top 40 country stream. I love all music, but I do miss hearing Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, Shawnia Twain, etc.

I love my Sirius, but would love to see some improvement in the Country Music department.

Okay, who else wants separate forums for each music genre? Let me hear if this is something all of you want.

I think Backstage may have grown enough to expand a bit.

The only issue I have with that is it makes too many different forums. To me, for as many music posts as we receive (not all that many), it is relatively easy to find a thread dedicated to your genre. Just go to "Sirius Music" and its there. Simple and neat.

Just my .02.

I don't know. It is a bitch to try and read 14 forums already. I think that having a forum for each group would get to be too much right now. iamtotallysirius, could you possibly start a poll at the top of the page(or if a moderator could, that would work) to see the responses? Maybe have four choices: Yes; most popular categories only; no; don't care.

Not enough traffic yet IMO. Sirius Music page one (for me using the forum defaults) has threads from 20 days ago. Plenty of room for discussion in there as it is.

One of those Yes Votes is actually a NO vote. Sorry! While I'd like to see this happen in the future, I don't think now is the time.

Just make sure when you are talking about a particular stream or catagory that you include that in the subject, so that will make it easy for everyone to know what you are talking about when looking through the threads. This will help organize the Sirius Music forum and make it easy to pick the discussions you'd like to enage in.

I've sure been enjoying all the threads though. Took me over an hour today to read through all the post. I remember when it would take a few minutes. So, this is GREAT!

So what say you now?

I think it's time to subdivide the music categories to foster more intimate discussion of the respective streams.

Yes or No.

I say it is time to break away the Rock and maybe Pop categories, but nothing more for now. Those make up most of the talk in the music forum.

If you do that, I say combine Sirius News/Talk/Sports and Sirius Entertainment. The line is just way too fine(i.e. is OutQ Talk/Entertainment?).

I agree, the grey area is too big.

Especially with CMJ and Rolling Stone coming on board. Are they talk or entertainment? I say both. Time to merge those forums.

Looks like Jeff is stripping the Sirius Entertainment forum as I type...

We'll miss you Sirius entertainment forum. I will remember every post I made in there when I go to Sirius News/Talk/Sports/Entertainment.

Done.

All posts from Entertainment were moved to the new merged forum.

No loss of information.

Yeah, I like that better. I was often confused at to which one to post in. Plus it cuts down on the number of forums to have to read through.

I really do wish you would add one though for folks looking to buy or sell stuff.

I say no seperate forums for the different genres. Not enough posts per day to make it worth while. I like having one Forum to go to to read music related posts.
