Default WXPN on A&E

After hearing on the organic rock thread about Live at the World Cafe on A&E, I decided to check it out. So far, I have seen it on the 3 o clock hour, and at the 9 o'clock hour(right now) EDT. Surprisingly, right after world cafe at 3(I tuned in at 3:58), I heard Kid's Corner, another show on WXPN, and one I listened to avidly as a kid. I was even on it once .

Anyway, for everyone who wants to hear some of what I and (mostly) Professor Dave have been talking about, tune into the World Cafe on A&E.

BTW: Kind of nice knowing that while XM rebroadcasts KIIS-FM, MTV, and VH-1 music, we have WXPN with us.

My only comment is that because it is on A&E the bandwidth for the "talk" does not do justice to World Cafe. It should really have more bandwidth or move it to Organic

Yeah, when I listened I noticed that the sound it spewed out was of a horrendous quality! I don't think it will be brought to Organic though. Sirius does not want the XM-esque style of FM rebroadcasts on its music stations. Maybe they could devote some more bandwidth to the channel during World Cafe time, after all, OutQ sounds fairly nice for a talk stream.

OutQ's in-house. Some of the talk channels are coming in over very shaky ISDN (or worse). 99% of the artifacts on the talk channels could be eliminated by restricting the upper frequencies to 8 or 10 khz, and not wasting bandwidth on tape hiss and other analog noises, which just alias and "swirl".
