I've been lisitening to Starlite and Movin' Easy for a few days and I thought that there were songs "blocked" together. I could swear I heard the same songs in the same sequence on different days. Also, do certain streams play the same songs at approx. the same time each day? I hope it is just my imagination.
That's just plain-ass laziness. They recycle playlists rather than go to the trouble of pulling new ones. Scream bloody murder.

I don't mind some blocking of songs together, especially when they have that perfect transition chemistry. I don't think they should do this every day or excessively, but I don't see a fundamental problem with the concept, especially with new hits. There's always that one stretch of songs in a row where I think, wow, that was a nice sequence. That's what they should strive for, otherwise they could just put it on random selection and be done with it.
No, they need to mix it up everyday and put some sort of repeat rules in affect for this stream too. Though overall I do not notice nearly as many repeats as some other streams they are there... I guess we can't expect no repeats ever though....
Being a Baby Boomer, I like the tunes played on Movin' EZ, 60's, 70's, 80's, Starlite and The Bridge and don't mind hearing occasional repeats. My concern is with the potential "predictability" and other problems created by a stagnate and fixed playlist. I am a creature of habit and listen to Sirius during particular times of the day/week and will not be happy if I turn on the receiver and hear the same tunes like "clockwork." In my mind that defeats the whole concept of a customer paid/funded system where variety should be a top priority. All I expect is that the programmers randomly shuffle the playlist on a daily basis to create variety. Is this an unreasonable expectation?
Not an unreasonable expectation at all. I have frequently complained of hearing the same songs two to three times a day on some of the other streams. I have to say I have noticed a definite improvement on some of them. There should be no stagnant playlists on subscription radio!!
