Default I love the 70s channel!

I love the 70s channel on Sirius. It is all the great old top 40 songs that you can't find anywhere anymore. I would subscribe to Sirius for this channel alone. All the FM stations that tried 70s were over researched and played most of the same stale stuff that I could hear on Classic Rock stations anyway. Where else can you hear Sammy John Chevy Van, Three Dog Night, Carly Simon, Terry Jack, Earth Wind and Fire, Coven etc... This is a really well programmed channel. Beats XMs 70s hands down too. Sirius needs to do more of this and serve the audience that is not satisfied with the FM offerings. What do you think of the 70s on Sirius?

I agree the 70's channel is good. I don't listen all day, but like to park it therre every once in awhile to get a blast from the past. I also like how they channel announcement sounds just like the FM channels I listened to in the 70's. It brings back good memories from when FM was actually not too bad!

Totally 70s is one of the better offerings of Sirius, it seems to have a large playlist and not as many repeats...lets keep it this way!!!

The older songs on any channel shouldn't be repeated frequently. Since most listeners are already familiar with the song, it is easier to get sick of an older song if it's played too much as compared to a new one. The decades channels should have plenty of songs to have a very long play list.

lManco, Im not sure what you mean by "older song"?? Arent all the songs on the decade streams, older songs? Maybe Im just tired, but youve lost me a bit on your post. I think maybe you mean some of the bigger hits, that get played too often? Let me know what you meant..Im in a fog...again!!

That's ok, I see your point of confusion. I meant some other channels play older songs also such as The Rock, The Trend, Starlight etc., not just the decades channels. None of the channels playing older songs should be repeating them frequently since they have already had their fair share of listening. Plus there are plenty of older songs to spread out the play list.

Here is some more of the stuff that I love on the 70s channel:
Hues Corp, Marvin Gaye, King Harvest, Al Green, Gwen McCrae, Andrea True Connection, Pilot, and the other stuff that you can't find anywhere anymore.

Stream 7 disappeared from my radio today. Is anyone experiencing this glitch?

nope. I am currently listening to Bob Seger - Still The Same on 7 right now.

Maybe that is a clue? The stream 'is' still the same.

I love the 70s channel. I think Sirius beats XM in the decades channels. I love the way they give you a sneak peek at what's going to be played and add a comment or two about the song/artist.

Yeah, me too, I love the little historical facts about the artist or the fact that they may be on tour somehwere and still blowing and going. I sometimes wish they went a little deeper into the decades though, this would really be nice.
