SIRIUS RockThe top tracks from the legends of rock n' roll, along side Underground, Alternative and Metal styles...all served up with the deepest Blues and the roots of Reggae.
I have a big problem with the progamming on XM's Liquid Metal. They play practically the same 20 bands over and over and over and over again with little or no 80s and 90s metal ('cept Slayer) (little or no mercyful fate, venom, motorhead, metal church, coroner, king diamond, helloween to name a few)
I'd like to hear from Sirius subscribers on how they like the programming of Sirius' "Hard Attack" Like / dislike? Same rotation over and over?
I like Blues, and I am a talk / news listener, but down deep I'm a metal head and XMLM (LameMetal) often leaves me wishing I had my portable MP3 player back in the car and not XM. Just so I can hear some of the good old metal that I really like.
I don't listen to this stream in particular, but submit your song requests to Sirius via their website. Also leave general feedback the same way and tell them to increase their playlists. I've had decent results with requests, but they sometimes take a few days to get played.
With enough people complaining obout repetition, something will happen.
Hardattack is much more faithful to the scene than XMLM, which just seems to be gypsy jocks playing metal by default. The Sirius people are very into the music.
I'm a big Hard Attack listener. I'll agree with rickets, they are pretty faithful to the metal scene. I can't give an opinion on XMLM (haven't heard it), but you can hear everything from old Mercyful Fate and Death to newer acts like Lamb Of God and Lacuna Coil. I highly suggest checking it out for long periods of time. Let us know how you like it!
I have not heard the XM metal channel, so I will not comment on it. However, I do listen to Hard Attack on Sirius. I gotta say, I am very impressed. They go from Type O Negative, to Slayer, to Motorhead, to a lot of brand new stuff, like LD50 or Slip Knot. It is really good. One thing I dislike is they play some songs that I wouldn't categorize with the other songs on Hard Attack. For example, I don't think listening to System of a Down should be played right after Slayer, classic Metallica (when they still kicked ass), or Sepultura. It is my opinion only, but those songs don't go together with System of a Down. I know my opinion will not be agreed with all the time. A friend of mine thinks I am nuts for not thinking System is hard enough.
What up! First post to the site! What's up RICKETS! Thanks for always supporting HARD ATTACK since the beginning!!!! You too reading this! So I'm the dude behind the sick ass tunes and I'm also on the air. Just to let ya'll know, I program this station w/ the soul and passion of a real metalhead, just like yourselves! Thanks to you all for feeling the energy of our station! I really think we are the premire source for killer metal of all kinds!!!! I constantly rock out HARD ATTACK all the time and my baby loves and is soothed by METAL!!! BTW...her 1st CD was DIO's anthology, over 3 hours of RONNIE JAMES DIO! My wife almost left me...that much DIO can be painful for some, but not me and Mya! Anyways, I'm here guys, reading and trying to make you all happy. But it's hard to please everyone. System will never leave HARD ATTACK! They mean too much to our world and people love them, including myself. My favs in life....Pantera, Carcass, Korn, Metallica, Acid Bath, Nothingface, Motley Crue, Puya, Black Sabbath, Sepultura, Slayer, System of a Down, Deftones, Megadeth, Testament, Anthrax, Lamb of God, Demon Hunter, Poison The Well, Opeth, and Chimaira! There's still so much to do w/ HARD ATTACK, give me time and "in the meantime" continue to enjoy what we got....something pure and true to the scene (nice one dude!) and let me know if you've got something that can really make HARD ATTACK the ultimate METAL station...it's already there and I totally, full-heartedly believe that.....I have so much fun on air it's sick! I can't wait for you to see what we've got coming up (new DJ's, shows, contests and more!!!) in the future on HARD ATTACK! I'll tell you this, we're going to be doing shit that people never thought could be done w/ METAL! My friends, it's exciting times and SIRIUS has given us the chance to have our music shine in the spotlight!

Smoke metal today, thanks for being a metalhead, stay in school, and get your friends and familia into SIRIUS!
I hate xmlm that gives me a headache after 15 minutes, boneyard has it right. I like hardatak, but I cant find a music channel I stick to on sirius, each channel plays a range of music and artists. Id rather they stick stricker control on the music they play on each channel so cretain songs or music is on certain channels then all over the place.
Hey Jose! What's up it was awesome to to talk with you. It was awesome to see how much passion you have that genre of music. After talking to you and getting home I spent 6hrs listening to Hard Attack and even not a real metal head I could get into it.
XMLM never really thrilled me just bizarre shit that was annoying as hell.

That's because Hard Attack is not the in-your-face, underground shit that todays metal fans crave, live, and die by. Its ok, when you want some easy listening metal. Hard Attack is just all over the place. Maybe good for others like Tristan, but not me.
Hey cool thanks for stopping in Jose! I am XM subscriber and I'm looking to subscribe to Sirius as well. I love heavy metal. XMLM plays the stuff I like. I like to get away from the traditional commercialized metal from Metallica, Korn, Disturbed and get into the underground, evil sounding, satanic and obnoxious to some metal from Cradel of Filth, Dying Fetus, Pumpkinhead and many more. I like Bone Yard for the hard rock of yesterday and Squizz for the commercial metal of today, but I just the style and feel of LM. Rock is really the only genre of music I like and I’d love to give the Rock channels on Sirius a good listen but Hard Attack seems to be a mish mash of all the different sub categories of metal. In no way do I think that’s a bad thing, but it would take some getting used to for me. In no way am I saying LM is better or worse the Hard Attack, since I haven’t heard that much Hard Attack to evaluate it but I’m more then willing to sub to Sirius and just need some extra cash and I’m there

I tried that, but being on dial up, streaming audio isn't the best way to listen I've listed to Hard Attack (and Octane for that matter) at Best Buy. But not good enough to make a judgement. I'm trying to make excuses to my self to justify getting Sirius, instead of an extra XM receiver. In all honesty I want Sirius, like with XM, when I'm ready the time will come

I like Hard Attack a lot, and decided on Sirius do to all the repetition on XM rock streams. My decision was a good one, I have set several memos on my audiovox unit from hard attack and it isn't constantly telling me the song is on, which is a GOOD thing I just wish they played older Mudvayne, LD50 and such Severed, Death Blooms, etc....those would fit nicely on Hard Attack. Octane plays A world so cold, but come one that isn't the best song on their latest cd.

I'll be honest.
HardAttack is NOT my cup of tea. But, I gotta tell you, from what I have seen, ALL the Sirius streams do their best to program in their little corner of the music world.
I hope that time comes soon for you when you get Sirius.
You won't regret it.
And thanks, Jose, for posting here! That is just SO neat! (And again, I date myself, tee hee...I could say kewl but that wasn't cool even when I was a pup!)
