Default Stream 15---The Rock

The stream jockey that plays from 12-6pm EDT has got to go! I have no problem with the music selection, but his dead, monotone voice leaves me wanting to change streams. He also repeats the title/artist for the last few songs he plays way too often. This is why we all have information displays on our radios. On several occasions today I have heard him play a little "teaser" before songs begin. It has nothing to with the upcoming song. Just some lame ass sound bite. Granted it's short, but it's really starting to get annoying. I heard this too many times today not to share my thoughts. The "teaser" bits before the songs sound too much XMish.

I'm looking forward to the next few hours with Carol Miller!

That is Pat St. John, and he just started last week. I don't mind his voice, but the recapping who just played is a bit annoying. At first it really bothered me, and then I was kind of happy when I would tune it to hear what I just missed It gave me a feel for the set that was playing and made me want to listen some more. Keep in mind not everone has their radio's in front of them to keep track of who just played.

I noticed Carol Miller doing the recaps too though so maybe they have made a fundamental shift in SJ talk on the Rock.

I actually think the ROCK sounds pretty darn good... I listened to it for a couple of hours this afternoon. Pat seemed okay to me. I guess every one has a different tolerence level for certain things. He seems to do a pretty good job. Though my fav is Carol.. no doubt about it. Pat is new, so he'll find it way soon enough, just give him a chance.

I drove from NYC to Danville, VA, a 500 mile trip last week and listened to The Rock for almost eight hours. We thought the afternoon SJ was Scott Muni-WNEW FM, but it was actually Pat St. John! To us, the voice and delivery were amazingly similar.

Regards...JL

I guess the new guy (Pat St. John) needs to be broken in a little. To me, the SJ's give their time slot a certain "feel". My top 2 for The Rock are Ralph Tortora (playing now) and Carol Miller. The outstanding music selections help my days go by a bit smoother.

There's something seriously wrong with him. He plays Don Henley.

I also hear Eric Clapton disgusting pop tunes. Even that Higher Ground rip-off of Stevie Wonder.
