SIRIUS RockThe top tracks from the legends of rock n' roll, along side Underground, Alternative and Metal styles...all served up with the deepest Blues and the roots of Reggae.
Been playing scrabble with the gf tonight since about 8pm. I've also been fixing our wireless network (tweaking it and what not), so I've been listening to sirius all night on the net. And since i'm not big on channel surfing, it's been on Octane all night.
Well, since 8:30 pm (it is now 2:12 am) we've gotten to hear Metallica's ST ANGER three times already!! That's three times in 6 hours!! You know what? I do not at all have a hard time believing that they repeat the same songs every few hours (in this case, every two), since it seems like everytime I get in the car I get to hear the same few songs.
Octane has seriously become (and really has always been pretty close to) a joke.
Whoa...I was about to hit the "submit" button, when 311's Creatures just began playing on Octane, for the second time in 6 hours.
Does Sirius truly believe this is acceptable??? Again, there is a reason XM will always be creaming these jokers.
I no longer have XM. I got rid of XM this past June when I took Sirius up on their F&F offer (after a 6-month haitus from Sirius). Most on this site seemed to be praising Sirius' big changes and what not, so I thought I'd be in for a treat.
I guess these Octane folks just arent expecting people to listen for long periods of time. Pretty odd that they're not expecting to sustain listeners.
Because he'd rather whine, bitch and moan. That is all this man has ever done since the first time I ever seen him on any forum. He can't be happy that is impossible. He not happy with SIRIUS, He is not happy with XM. I just know I hate to have to live with him or work with him. It must be hard. GEEZ!!!
Bye the way, you complained about this same crap in regards to XM. Too much repetition. Not enough of this, not enough of that. Most of us don't listen to one single stream 24 hours a day seven days a week. Don't you know variety is the spice of life! LOL
Dab, come come now. I have standards, that's all. If I've ever griped about something that did not have a legitimate basis, please let me know and perhaps we'll talk about it.

Okay, Okay... fire away! Are you bitching at them, by email, phone calls etc. I really wish you'd direct all your energy in that manner, cause you are good at it. LOL
Now that I'm thinking about it, if everything I post is being written off since I'm just expected to be this horrible nasty little troll, it is rather pointless for me to even post on this site, other than for my own venting purposes.
I guess I'll just stick to emailing Sirius and getting their one-dimensional responses. But least here I get something more than sunshine blown up my kilt. So thanks for atleast clickin on my topic.

Ahh you're right. I guess it's just easier this way. I think I bitch a lot here because I was under the impression the people at sirius check this site. But I guess i'd better just start going on the belief that they dont and I'll move back into contacting them directly.
Alright. I will turn over a new leaf! No more whiney posts on my end. Time to be a man. Thanks for puttin up with me.
FithElement, There's nothing wrong with posting legitimate gripes, but people tend to think you are just here to bash when all you post are negative things. I challenge you to post something about Sirius that they do right or that you enjoy so we can understand your total perspective, not just the negative side.

Hey that's kinda neat that you say that, cuz about five ago minutes I did. And it was actually a reply to a post from you about the reception issue.
But I am totally turning over a new leaf here. Hopefully if I start being more positive, I wont notice the little things that are getting to me, and I wont annoy you all as much (And I'll enjoy sirius more).
As far as the bitching and moaning we all do it at times. We are all such big fans of Satellite radio and sometimes we get upset when things aren't exactly like we want them to be.
The repetiton on Octane can be annoying at times but it is a hits station and this problem has been around forever. Most listeners don't even notice it, they are just happy to hear their favorite song. I often deal with this issue with my sister. She will tell me how much she likes a new song on the radio which has been played to death. My response to her is that song is so old but to her it is brand new and she seeks the song out. Us "geeks" will always be complaining about repetiton because we listen so much.

Yes... true. But as I said in my other thread, there are a -LOT- of songs on MTV's rock countdown that Octane isn't even playing. How can you have a 'modern rock hits' station with only a minimal amount of modern rock hits!? Their music selection is stagnant at best... and it's sad and pathetic.
On the topic of not breaking new music, I agree 100%. I would have thought since there are not many restrictions on Satellite radio that they would be the first to play the newest music. I have not really experienced this on Sirius but on XM XMU only plays the newest music. I wish Sirius had a stream like that. I wonder if this newer music you are referring to is played on XM's MTV station.
Email Sirius or better yet write a letter to them. Call, do whatever you have to. They should be playing music that has already broken on MTV.
I have emailed Octane TWICE. I never recieved a response either time.
This does not mean they aren't getting them. I'd keep sending them myself if this issue was that important to me. This is how things get changed, is people complain to the powers that be. I know it seems like a waste of time, but if you don't do it and then no one else does it, what hope is there that it will ever change?
