Default XM at Wal-Mart

I was at Wal-Mart at midnight picking up the Two Towers and Simpsons Season 3. And I noticed an XM Pamphlet so I picked it up. Had a channel guide and some info about the boombox. And looked at Channel 205 and it didn't have any mention of playboy just "Premium Service Available". I was like What the Hell. Man Wal-Mart keeps on sucking. Can't show the world that XM has playboy. It's like those religous guys who were bashing XM now Wal-Mart is doing it also.

Oh well Wal-Mart is okay for cheap Asian Products you have never heard of that break and can never be returned. Every time I go to a Wal-Mart I always seem to get a headache.

It could just as easily been XM modifying their brochures. I doubt the Playboy streamsways too many subscribers to sign up so it has little upside, and more downside if they include it. In order for satellite radio to go mainstream, it will have to be adopted by a wide range of listeners, so I don't see a big problem with this personally. Who knows, maybe XM is planning on cancelling the stream and just updated the brochures to eliminate it.

From what I can see, I don't think very many XM'ers would be bothered if they did cancel it, cause most folks over on XMFan say its garbage anyway.

I was trying to point out that Wal-Mart wants this whole family image. With Censored CD's, They Cover Cosmo Magazine, They sell some editied movies. So I was just pointing out that Wal-Mart trying to be the "family" place they want the publix to see blocked out what the premium channel was.

I had the playboy channel for 2 months it was funny at first but just repeats repeats repeats. It's just like the C|Net Radio channel is now just the same show 24/7. Not worth the time.

Tristin, I know where you are coming from, and it's possible Walmart required that.

Having the Playboy channel and driving seems like a strange combination. I have no idea what they talk about but I assume it is designed to arouse which doesn't make me feel safe to know there are drivers listening I just hope most are listening at home

The Wal-Mart don't have XM. I already checked.

If they do have it than they have it hidden someplace.

It's Wal-Mart in Porter Ranch.

Some Wal*Mart's do, some don't carry XM.

But Wal*Mart does indeed censor what they will or won't sell.

I bet the premium service available brochures were printed up just for Wal*Mart at its request.

OTOH, they are THEIR stores. They can sell what they like. And customers can decide whether or not to shop there. Wal*Mart, last I checked, sells over 20 percent of the CD's sold in this country, and even more of the DVD's. Never forget the tantalizing thrill of low price. Never, ever.

Just one more reason SIRIUS needs to market itself well. That extra three bucks is easy to overcome, provided someone gets a chance to talk about why it is worth it. That extra three bucks may have also kept SIRIUS out of Wal*Mart. Well, that and the CENSORSHIP__Off stuff...

So be it.

Yes, walmart doesnt sell certain magazines cause they think they are too rascy.

I made the mistake of buying several cds from them just to hear a bleep in the middle of a song and found they were all censored

I dont understand that USA shit either as their crap is made in the asian areas. I do shop there, they do have good prices on food.
