World Radio Network - Good for Various Perspectives
I listen to NPR and other news on the web, but WRN is great for hearing various perspectives from around the world. I listened to Radio Australia this morning and Radio Israel this afternoon. It's interesting to hear what is newsworthy to those on a different part of the globe.
I was a little disappointed to find that Lacy Peterson and Kobe Bryant did not make the headlines in either the South Pacific or Israel. Bugger!
Does anyone else listen to WRN to get a global perspective?
I agree 100 percent! WRN is the best followed closely to the BCC for a different perspective than the right-wing propoganda given on FOX (which I refuse to listen to - or watch on TV). I will watch Aaron Brown on CNN and hope that CNN will replace FOX sometime in the future.

I do sometimes. I also like to listen to mailbag programs from Radio Canada, etc.

I agree. Before I had satellite radio I used to listen to shortwave. I don't anymore but I still to listen to Glenn Hauser's World of Radio on WRN to keep informed of what's going on in the world of radio, particularly shortwave radio.

..or CNN's left-wing propaganda. I don't mean either left or right, I mean a non-US Citizen, different part of the globe perspective. But I agree that's it's a refreshing change from the left/right bias that we normally see.
I am a big fan of WRN on Sirius (and on the web). It's great to hear the current events described from a variety of perspectives.
When I signed up for Sirius 10 mos ago, the #1 reason to choose it over XM was for WRN.
I hope someone at Sirius is reading this ... WRN was/is a big deal to me!
Now, I wish that WRN would juggle their schedule ! How about something besides Canada at the evening drive time ? I would love to hear China or Russia in that time slot.
I too am a big fan of WRN but those annoyingly ''busy'' Sirius Money Minutes destroy the flow. What kind of psychotic people come up with these commercial beds? Take some acid and learn to relax.

and some of those Sirius money minutes are from the beginning of Sirius. I heard one just tonight that referred to tax law changes that will begin in 2002!!!
They did indeed. I hope they at least get up to late 2002.
Seriously, I would worry myself silly about anyone who learned anything from those simplistic, silly money minutes. What's worse, some of the information conveyed in My Weekly Reader terms is just flat out wrong. Tax advice cannot be dumbed down to those levels and still be right. Money minutes should go in the trashcan.
My favourite bad one explains why interest rates go up and down. And then explains effects. And has it EXACTLY backwards! They actually say when interest rates go up it's time to refinance. (Who wrote these things, the banks?)
