Default Alt Nation Format Change today?

Sirius just played a promo that said "Being Different, Being Better, we had to. Alt Nation" I don't know if that is new or not (I think it is), but Alt Nation has been playing a lot of Octane-like music, like Foo Fighters - Low, and QOTSA - Go With The Flow. I think Octane and Alt Nation will become the Squizz and Ethel of Sirius. Octane getting some of the heavier stuff, and Alt Nation getting some of the lighter stuff, with some overlap I'm sure.

Hey speaking of those two XM stations - Which is closest to being the "Fred (Xm Ch 44)" of Sirus?? Early NY & LA Punk days? Ive gotten hooked on XM's channel and Im trying to find a similar one on Sirius..

First Wave seems to be the obvious choice, but every time Ive listened to it, they havent been playing what I expected...

Isn't it time to update the Sirius.com website to reflect the new directions for these streams.

There is no need to keep programming secrets from their loyal listeners.

I gotta say, Octane and Altnation sound nothing like either of those stations on XM.

For starters, ethel nor squizz plays hairbands. Ethel actually plays a wide selection of tunes from the 90s (not just the 15 that sirius seems to play) and Squizz actually plays harder new music primarily (not the top 10 modern rock tracks like Octane seems to vomit every day), and you wont hear the same song twice in the same day on either station usually.

I guess you could consider Altnation sort of the watered down equivalent of ethel, much like RC Cola is the wannabe equivalent of coke.

Oh, and if you want to hear "OUTKAST" you'd have to turn on the MTV or VH1 channels...cuz OUTKAST isn't rock and doenst belong on the rock streams, which XM is well aware of.
