Default I like the new Octane, BUT...

Don't shoot me down yet.

I like the Active Rock format, because I really like a mix of the new with the old. I'm a rock fanatic overall, so Octane has only become better for me.

BUT Sirius needs to bring back Rock Hits, which was another stream which was a mistake for them to delete. It would fit it perfectly as the stream to find new rock only.

That is a stream I miss too. Rock Hits. Sirius refered me to like 2 or 3 streams to listen to in place of Rock Hits. I liked Rock Hits very much.

I haven't had Sirius long enough to know the difference between the old and new Octane, but one thing I was wondering is why do they play so much damn linkin park, 3 doors down, and limp bizkit, I mean common if they keep playing these bands so much they need to add a channel called "Carrier was over before it started". Other than the above mentioned I actually like Octane quite a bit, depending on which DJ is on.

I've noticed Octane is not really new rock. I am new to Sirius and hope it does something. I hear alot of GNR and real old rock that probably belongs on a different stream. ?? Confused??

Instead of being a Modern rock stream like it was, they now call it Pure Rock...... its still a very good station though, but Rock Hits would be nice.

The more I listen to Octane, the more I freakin hate it!!!!! I like the new rock, but when I hear Guns and Roses, old Metallica and Living Color....I dont know what to think. Has it always been like that? Still have the XM and probably will be dropping Sirius if this is Octane. Sounds like my local radio station. Jeese oh petes (sorry)....there's 100 streams, cant they stick to format?

Excuse you. I understand you are upset and all but I really do not put up with people using my saviors name like that. Plus this is a public place with some kids that are on these forums reading them. Have a little common curtesy please.

When did this change happen? Recently? I was a little suprised to hear Nirvana on Octane an hour ago, but it was a nice change of pace from all nu-metal.

I agree they need a good new rock channel. I love the stream, but I'd really like a cutting edge rock stream too. In Pittsburgh there is an FM channel that I really like (despite it being owned by Clear Channel) called WXDX (the X appropriatly enough). Every sunday night they have 'Edge of the X' where they just play some of the newest rock out there and its great. Its the new stuff that isn't in regular rotation anywhere yet.

I think Sirius would do well to add in a cutting edge channel like that...they could even call it "The Edge"

Dude, if you are that easily offended, the internet must be a scary place for you. IMHO, anything that can be said during the day on television is open season in a forum.

As far as Octane... I don't usually give it a listen because I don't like all the new heavy stuff (3 Doors Down, Staind, etc.), but if they are now playin GNR and Metallica, I might switch over and check it out!

LOL

Just as long as they play some GNR songs that AREN'T on Appetite, I'd be happy.
