This is good news. There are many playoff baseball fans even if they don't follow the regular season too closely. I hope Sirius advertises on ESPN announcing they can get the playoff games if they subscribe!

Good news??? I think its better described as bullshit!! The only sports Sirius can legitmately promote are the NBA and the new weekly soccer game. Sirius loves to put out these bullshit PRs which simply hype what ESPN Radio happens to be playing. How about Sirius getting off their corporate ass and getting some actual sports on the sports streams! I want to hear some football, auto racing, and hockey. I like the NBA broadcasting model using the home team announcers. Let's apply it to more sports!!!

It's not BS. They will be playing the playoff games on Sirius. So what if it's on ESPN, it will still be on and they have to pay ESPN to have their stream. Also if XM doesn't have it, then that's just another reason to get Sirius instead.

They did this last year too.

I happen to think press releases that puff up something like this cause REAL news later to be ignored as just more puffery.

I think it's great (especially since I am not a NBA fan). Let's hope the audio quality on those channels is good. I have not liked the quality of the audio on higher numbered streams the past week or so.

It sounds both acurate and informative. How many people know Sirius is going to have the playoff games and world series if they don't do a press release? Why are you guys hung up on this? They didn't claim it was an exclusive and they clearly stated it would be on ESPN.

I am not a big baseball fan myself, but I do love other sports. I hope this means that Sirius is in discussion with other major sports and might start carrying games from the NFL and NHL. I think it would be great if they could get a radio version of DirectTV's NFL Sunday ticket. Id rather listen to a good game than watch one of the shitty games on tv.

Hopefully Sirius will start to show some more dedicatation to sports fans and getting more live sports events broadcast over Sirius.

They have more streams to work with than XM, so for sports programming, my guess is Sirius will have more than XM over time. Chances are good each will get their own exclusives, so you might have to subscribe to both just to have all the sports you want.

To get all the sports I want wouldn't even require me to open my eyes or ears!

ESPN did bring other live baseball games during the regular season, especially Saturday afternoon, that Sirius did not carry. This press release is great news to me. Go Twins.
