Default Why Satellite Radio is better!

I am glad TulaneJeff locked the topic "Why Sirius = FM".

But he should let me respond before he locked it.

Anyway, post why you think Satellite Radio is better.

As you noticed, I did not say XM or Sirius. So if you are an XM or Sirius subscriber, post your reason here.

Here's mine:

1. Do not have to listen to CRAPPY AM and FM.
2. More variety.
3. 80's station!
4. More enjoyment!
5. No lost signals / Coast to Coast

I think the impression from your topic was that you were trying to say that SIRIUS is like FM. I think if had been Why SIRIUS is better than FM?

We know its doesn't equal it, its much, much, much better in every aspect except maybe the interactive area. I do enjoy the no commercials on the music streams, along with variety and having a signal just about no matter where I am. Might seem silly, but I even like messing around with the equipment at times. Also, I like hearing the hits, though not over and over.

XM, I also like but for different reasons, they do have some commercials, no big deal yet, variety in a different way, more eclectic, which isn't a bad thing at times. Cinemagic, Audiovisions, Special X, Watercolors is what make XM worth it to me. Again, you can tune in no mater where you are and that is sweet.

I still prefer SIRIUS because overall I prefer the hits. Simple as that. One of you jokers will have to say, but you can hear the hits on FM. NO YOU CANNOT. So don't even go there.

I can sum up why it's better in one sentence:

I never bothered listening to FM for the last 15 years but I listen to Sirius all the time.

Sound quality. irius just sounds better than 98% of the radio stations in the universe.

That is why I am hooked.

Plus the variety of 60 commercial free channels of music.

This after what? Less than 24 hours?

After KYJ has that Sirius a month, he will either be its biggest fan or its biggest critic.

Or both...

(giggle)

OK, my Sirius is now in the office with me as well. (love that Shuttle PNP) and I will have to say that I have not been satisfied with radio since I left northeastern NJ last winter.

Now I have my NYC metro styled radio back. - And it is commercial free!

And it is worth every penny.

Now where is the stream that is similar to WPLJ???

But I am thrilled that no one copies the train wreck style of WCBS with 60's Beachboys into 80's Michael Jackson. Yuck!

CBS-FM's a has been! I've had Sirius since May and I haven't tuned in CBS-FM or any NYC FM music station since.

By comparison to where I live, NYC FM's are a radio lovers paradise and the AM are filled with every extreme opinion possible. In my part of the world, our local radio has been destroyed by ClearChannel which is why I waited for the audiovox unit because CC is an investor in XM.

That opinion is no reflection of the personnel at CC stations because they are just doing the job that they are being instructed to do.

I've had Sirius for about 15 months.

And when I drive through the NYC metro, which happens from time to time, I don't even turn Sirius off. Why would I? (well, unless some pesky passenger just HAS to listen to what passes for radio on FM these days..)

Well, I would have to just slap the "bloody-ell" out of a pasenger that would turn off Sirius to listen to FM.
