Default Sirius Country Music compared to Terrestrial Country Radio

THE UNIT “Kenwood-Here2Anywhere”-Can be plugged into headphones, Computer Speakers or Stereo Receiver with the “Here2Anywhere” home docking station (the antenna can just be set on a window sill. You can also buy an adapter to go into any cassette player. And you can buy an adapter with an FM modulator that connects to your Car Antenna and the unit plugs into a Cigarette lighter. The title and artist of the song being played is displayed on the unit. I read Kenwood now makes a Stereo System with Sirius Satellite radio built into it.

NEW COUNTRY (Today’s Country Hits)-Stream 31: Great if you do not wish to hear songs 45 to 52 times a week and silly morning shows and a lot of garbage talk and commercials. You’ll hear many songs that you won’t hear on FM Country Radio. A variety of Artists are played and not the same few headline artists played over and over (and there is no hidden agenda, politics and Artist are not forced to pay Payola for their music being played)

COUNTRY ROAD (Country Mix)-Steam 32: Great hits of the 70’s thru the 90’s. This is one of my favorites.

ROAD HOUSE (Classic Country)-Stream 35: It speaks for itself.

THE BORDER (Alternative Country)-Stream 36: off the beatin’ path of Nashville.

WSM Entertainment (650 WSM AM)-Stream 132: Oldest Country Radio Station and Home of the Grand Ole Opry

BLUEGRASS: (Bluegrass)-Stream 37: This is where you can hear artists like Alison Krause, The Dixie Chicks, Patty Loveless, Dolly Parton, Ronda Vincent, Ricky Skaggs and Ketucky Thunder, Dwight Yoakam, Earl Scruggs, Vince Gil and many more. They are the true “Country Rebels”.

There are many Genre(Pop, Rock, Country, Hip Hop, R&B, Dance, Jazz/Standards, Classical, Latino) Oldies all kinds (50’s ,60’s, 70’s, 80’s), Sports Channels, Talk Radio (including Left wing and Right wing), News Channels, Weather Channels, Kids Channel, Disney Channel and the list goes on.

The listeners aren’t divided into demographics which causes Age and Sex discrimination. Sirius doesn’t care about Imaging and age of the Artist( you can hear the older Artist’s old and new songs). The songs are not repeated over and over again in a tight play list.

I LOVE my Sirius Satellite Radio. I predict that terrestrial FM radio will be the same as AM is now in 5 years if they don’t change their ways!

They are putting Satellite Radio in new cars!

WAKE UP COUNTRY RADIO!!!!

And what you said of country is equally true of oldies, pop, r and b, etc. I am not so sure it is true of rock, which is one reason the rickets of the world are so upset...

I don't know about Rock Interpreter. Jam Central has gotten the attention of 5 people at school. The only Jam Band show on the FM dial is one hour a week on a college station.

My Sirius radio has re-piqued my interest in the country format. But the great part of Sirius programming, you can see the flow and ebb of artists as they cross different genres. I have seen Allison Kraus on Bluegrass, Organic Rock, the Bridge as well as a couple of the country streams. Just a reminder of how similar the different types of music.

And as I notice Allison Kraus, others will notice performers like Tom Waite which is really before my time.

And on organinc Rock right now is a Willie Nelson/Eric Clapton blues piece.

Awesome music. Great variety. And my TV has not been on since I have got this unit!

Tom Waits is before your time?

OUCH!

And he just did the Coney Island Baby thing!

TV? My tv hasn't been on since December. I do watch at my parents' house from time to time.
