Default Robert Law to Join SIRIUS as Senior VP of Retail Operations

Consumer Electronics Industry Veteran to Oversee All Retail Market Initiatives for the Satellite Radio Broadcaster

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030929/nym116_1.html

SIRIUS, known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and premium broadcast entertainment to cars and homes across the country, today announced that consumer electronics industry veteran, Robert Law, is joining the company as Senior Vice President of Retail Operations.

Law, who most recently was Senior Vice President of the consumer division of Kenwood USA Corporation in Long Beach, California, will oversee all aspects of SIRIUS' growing retail business, including sales, merchandising, hardware distribution, and sales planning.

"Bob comes to SIRIUS with a proven track record in retail sales and marketing," said Joseph P. Clayton, President and CEO of SIRIUS. "While at Kenwood, he built a dynamic and motivated sales and marketing organization that successfully positioned Kenwood as a major consumer electronics brand in this country. We believe that he will be a very valuable member of our senior management team, and he will help us with new business opportunities as we continue to grow our subscriber base."

Law served in many management positions while at Kenwood USA since 1990, including Regional Sales Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing for its mobile electronics products, National Marketing Manager for home electronics, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for its consumer division.

"I am thrilled to be joining the strong management team that currently exists at SIRIUS," said Law. "It is a rare opportunity to be able to join an industry and a company that has such potential for tremendous growth. I look forward to working closely with Joe Clayton and the rest of the SIRIUS team, as we move the company forward and fulfill the promise of this incredible service."

Looks like this might just fill a weakness in the management team. Retail channel needs some work to get us into Best Buy with the AudioVox and to get the same respect as XM has currently with retailers.

I agree, hopefully this will help close the gap that is in the market place in terms of floor space in retail stores. XM always has much space in most all locations that its equipment is sold.

This comes as HUGE news to all of us at Kenwood. Bob Law has been in charge of the company for quite some time now -- second in command right behind the Japanese president. Needless to say, he will be a tremendous assett to Sirius. I wish him the best of luck.
