Default A Question about live sports...

I am a newbie to Sirius in that I just subscribed a little less than two weeks ago. One of the reasons was the live sports with the NBA, and now with the NHL, I am thrilled!

Can Sirius realistically air 40 games per week for each league on the streams that they have set aside? It seems like an awful large amount of games to stream in a week.

If any of you 'long-termer' Sirius fans have an answer, I would be greatly appreciative.

They can air up to 40. My guess is that it will be close each week. They have Live sports 1-2-3, then they have three weather channels, followed by Sirius Sports Action and Sports Byline to put them on before they take off any other channel. Assuming two games/day per stream, that is a capacity of 112 games per week before they have to pre-empt talk programming, like XMfan makes it out to be.

LOL. I really think that they are jealous and have to come up with reasons to make them feel secure about their insecure purchase.

I went out and got Sirius last week because of the NHL announcement. Live sports is a must have for me. I cannot wait till Hockey starts.

Congrats! And welcome to Sirius and SiriusBackstage! The NHL announcement is certainly welcome if it can pull in large numbers of new activations. The NHL and NBA are nice, but if only they could get the NFL on board...

Thanks for the welcome Jor Glad to be part of the Sirius family now. I really like sports and the NHL announcement is what broke the ice for me. I have both XM and Sirius and I love both. I am pro Satellite radio and i think it's the best thing to happen to radio.
