CES, LAS VEGAS & NEW YORK - January 8, 2004 - SIRIUS (NASDAQ: SIRI), known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and premium sports entertainment to cars and homes across the country, today announced a partnership with ECLIPSE by FUJITSU TEN, the premier independent retail specialist brand. ECLIPSE in-dash headunits will be SIRIUS compatible in 2004, and the company will also manufacture a SIRIUS receiver that will combine with these units to offer consumers SIRIUS' combination of 100% commercial-free music, news, sports and original programming.
"We're thrilled to have ECLIPSE join us as a partner," said Joseph P. Clayton, President and CEO, SIRIUS. "The addition of ECLIPSE represents potentially tens of thousands of new in-dash headunits. Plus, they are recognized as being the premier brand for independent retail specialists such as Car Toys and The Good Guys. Having ECLIPSE as part of our team reinforces SIRIUS' belief in the power of retail brands, and the strength of the independent retail channel."
"We're stepping up behind SIRIUS because we believe they are the premier brand in satellite radio," said Ray Windsor, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ECLIPSE. "Since we represent the premium brand in mobile electronics, partnering with SIRIUS is a natural."
It's Fujitsu Ten. They are huge. They make radios and computers for Toyota.
Yep. I thought they might sell units that look like their Toyota units or fit properly into the dashboard. Instead, it has that same aftermarket "chrome dials with blue lights and a black LED screen" look that they all do.
So I forgot about Nakamichi, whoops .
As far as brands you can go to a store and buy easily, Eclipse is the best. (I've always wanted a Nakamichi though)

I have used most brands and definitely prefer eclipse. I haven't used or heard a nak yet though. Everybody pretty much says they make excellent sounding stuff, but the reliability isn't always great.
I would love to check out the CD400 or CD700 though...mmmm
