GO PISTONS! I don't care if none of the "experts" is giving them a chance in this series! BEAT LA!
Hey, does anybody know how they will determine which broadcast will be aired on Sirius for the Finals games? I noticed in the last round that they just alternated detroit and indy announcers each game, not necessarily broadcasting the home team's announcers as I expected. (I had to suffer through the indy broadcast of game 4, when I was driving for the whole game...their "color commentator" has to be about the worst I've ever heard) Just wondering since I'll be on the road for about the 1st half of game one of the finals, and am curious as to what I'll hear...
Can't answer your question kramer, but I'll tell you what they're doing for the finals on the NHL side. Hockey fans are getting the national broadcast from Westwood One instead of either teams home broadcast. Hopefully, basketball fans will get treated better.
1. bigs can double shaq and run the floor to wear him down
2. detroit has team size, speed, and athleticism
3. ft%
4. head coach will utilize full & deep bench
5. perimeter passing
6. rebounding
7. traps across midcourt and full court press potential
8. good coach
9. LA's year long lack of focus and intensity
10. detroit can stretch the floor especially when hitting 3s
11. it is very dark in Detroit's gym
12. LA's fans won't show up until halftime and wont get excited until they are losing.
What a great gameplan by Larry Brown. Single coverage on Shaq for most of the game...try to deny the entry, if not let shaq get his points, but don't leave anyone unguarded to double him. Results? Shaq and kobe get a ton of points (59 combined) but everyone else gets nothing (16 total) and the Pistons win!! If nothing else the series got interesting in a hurry!
And in sirius news, they had the LA broadcast on last night, wasn't bad though...I listened to the 1st qtr before I got to the tv. Will have to check to see if the detroit guys are on tomorrow night...
I really wish I would've taped that montage of clips showing Kobe pouting when he wasn't getting the ball. Not so easy when you are playing a team committed to defense, eh Kobe?!
yes but expect the lakers to win the next 2 before choking in game 7.....it is tough to close out a series, especially when the opponent has talent and pride. i will be shocked if the lakers lose tonight. but it would make my day, I mean, do we really expect to reward someone who knows they are great, doesn't work hard, doesn't prepare, then acts like it is everyone elses fault when times get tough? sounds like the lakers to me. & that is why this LA team would never have beat Jordan, so when they compare the two, well that is my take.....
