It seems to me like Sirius Hip Hop channels are beginning to play the same music over and over again, almost sounding like FM, just without the commercial.
Is it so bad to play songs from last year, or even two years ago? Those songs are still hits but we have to hear Juvenile on channel 50, then when you change to 44, he's the next song. Then I have to listen to Nelly pretend to sing and sound the same on every song, followed by 50 cent all day every day. I love the radio but every 3rd or 4th song doesn't HAVE to be Nelly, Juvenile, Ludacris, Eminem, Ying Yang Twins, 50 cent and the GGGGGGGGunit, or anyone else that seems to get the most air time. Atleast play some of their other songs, and not the SAME ONES OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
Let's play some variety. Isn't that what we all want?
Atleast play songs from the past 3-5 years, but we don't have to go back to backspin times.
I hate "Err body in da club getting tipsy". Worse song every.

I've been saying that for months but Sirius doesn't seem to understand that concept at all. Sirius does not play many songs from 1997-early 2003. Every song in the playlist that gets heavy rotation is pretty much from the same period fall '03 till now. I dont know which idiot told Sirius this is what anyone wants to hear. 40 and 44 are basically the same damn stations. 44 plays the same 20 songs a day with a couple oldies that I don't want to hear again (Dr. Dre singles on all the streams get on my last nerves. They play his shit like its nuthin). They are tons of rap singles that no longer get airplay or never ever have been played on Sirius. Alot of these songs were top 50 on charts but you wouldn't know this by listening to Sirius.
Where is Bone Thugs N Harmony? Not the first of the month or their other song. I'm tired of those too. I haven't heard Crossroads nor its anywhere to be found on Sirius.
Bubba Sparaxx, Big Tymers, De La Soul, Ja Rule, Nappy Roots (where the heck is Awwnaww?, MIA on Sirius) Scarface, and alot of others that I'm too lazy to type out, get exactly zero playtime on Sirius or if they do, its the same 1-3 songs over and over. How many times in 1 day does Sirius think we can stomach Game Over, Tipsy, Poppin Them Things (or whatever the fuck its called), the whole G Unit and Chingy (uh, his voice).
Let's not even getting started on when HHN plays a song then SB will come and play the same exact song not even 5 minutes later. wtf? Are you telling me that PD can't see each other playlist to avoid crap like this?
Its like talking to brick wall with sirius. I'm so close to jump canceling my subscription and going with XM......
edit: just did a quick search on SB. Out of 227 (as of 3:20), 21 songs are before fall 2003. Thats about 9%. Pretty pathetic imho........
Not sure he is an idiot...but I believe his consulting is largely what is causing the repetition. People wanna hear the hits, you see. And only the hits.
The burnout on the urban channels is extremely high. I'm with Corey, add more recurrents and late 90s, early '00 rap and hip-hop. There's so much overlap between Nation, Street Beat and Hot Jamz, surely they can break one out to play the 'good and shouldn't be forgotten' gold tracks from a few years ago.
I've stopped listening to 40 thru 50 because it's too stale.
The limited and repetitive playlists have become annoying- and there is no reason for it. Anyone from Sirius care to post a reason for this? If it was so good, urban music fans wouldnt be posting such complaints. Wake up and smell the grits!!!

A consultant.
You asked!
Hehe..... . I wonder how a dumbass like himself even became a consultant.

I agree Jeff, the only problem, if I did that, I would be out of the main music that I listen too. . Sirius seems to be stuck on stupid and I'm tired of it..... 51 and 52 aren't any better but its not as bad.
I'm one who, in the past, drank the kool-aid on Sabo only working on the talk side. No more! Sirius is not even being subtle about it anymore. They even issue PR giving Walter credit for the Elvis channel.
We know they have the music, we know their talent knows the music, and we know Sabo is keeping them from playing the music. Enough is enough.
As someone who has dealt with him personally, He is an idiot
I believe his name is Sabo.

Public enemy #1= Sabo! Quit over consulting and making Satellite radio a clone of FM. Why does Sirius trust someone who consults for regular radio stations? Satellite radio is suppose to be an alternative to am/fm radio, not a duplication of such. One would think the white shirts at Sirius would read these boards and see the #1 complaint is REPEATS!! What gives?
