Chuck was a legend in radio, his talents and personality will be missed. God Bless, my sympathy to his family, friends and those who listened to him. I am honored to have been part of his large audience, and when he was at Sirius, it made the memories and past come alive.
I was just listening to his show yesterday and wondered why MIke T was filling in...
RIP

I've been meaning to make a topic about him for awhile. He has been off the air for a few months now and I've been wondering why people are still filling in for him. Sad day though, I never heard him on Sirius.
Chuck was on Sirius Soul Revue from Sept 2001 until mid 2003, when he left for health reasons. Mike T has filled in for him for over a year, and always stating so. He has been very professional in his reminding everyone it was Chuck's show and that they hoped he would be back soon. Thanks Sirius for being classy and supportive of this radio legend. RIP and God speed.
I wished I had a chance to have heard him, and I agree with Joe, Sirius was classy all the way by keeping his name out front. Cancer is a terrible way to go, and i feel for his family.
We recall Chuck very fondly, he was on Sirius when we got it back in 2002. We sort of wondered what became of him, Mike T always would say "....filling in for Chuck Leonard". Mike T is also a great DJ for Soul Revue, and Ken Spider Webb. Sirius truly has some great class acts as announcers. RIP in Mr. Leonard.
Memorial services for Chuck Leonard will be held in NYC on August 26. His family is requesting in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the March of Dimes or The American Cancer Society. Mr. Leonard was the very first black on the air personality on legendary WABC. He was on from 1965 to 1979, 14 yrs is a long time in any one job especially radio!! RIP.....
