Default Come On, Sirius.....

Can we stop with the repeativeness on Hot Jamz? Hell, can we get some new songs in the damn playlist? I mean, its truly pathetic that I believe (I'm pretty certain that I have) I've heard every song in the Hot Jamz playlist but yet you have a 500,000 or 1 million song library?

Everytime, I wake up or go to bed, its the same tired songs over and over. Do you guys just hit shuffle and repeat on a new broadcasting day? I'm so close to jumping to XM. The City seems like its programmed way better then Hot Jamz. Hell, even if it wasn't, atleast I can get my request and e-mails answered or played on the air in minutes compared to days and never on Sirius. Sorry guys but this is just ridiclous. How many times a day does Sirius think we need to hear the Sunshine Remix, Lean Back Remix etc etc. Its the same tired ass, 20 artists played every day. Its sickening......

It's a waste of post imho but hell, I hope Geronimo (the PD for 50 etc) and other highups see this and figure out no wants to hear the same mess day in and day out. VARIETY, guys. VARIETY!
Rant over......

I stopped listening to 50, 44 and 40 completely because they became so stale.

Only recently did I tune back in, and white it's good to hear the hits it does get tiring real fast.

The urban genre as a whole on SIRIUS is very Billboard Hot 100 oriented. They need to rethink 44 and 40 to break up the monotony.

The fact that it's not 100% uncensored really puzzles me as well. Everyone I demo SIRIUS to loves how it's uncensored, but when an edited track gets thrown in the whole car gets annoyed.

Jeff

If I did that, I wouldn't have anything to listen too. . If I can find a cheap Skyfi, I'm jumping ship or atleast going to see what the other side has to offer.

You're joking, right? Hot 100? Hell, They are lucky if they get outside of the Hot 25, if that on the urban streams...... :\

You'll really be disappointed with XM's Heart & Soul equivalent, Suite 62. Way too SLOOOOOOW. But if you're into hip-hop and active R&B, The City isn't bad (unless you care about your music being censored all the time).

Having both XM and Sirius, I can tell you Heart & Soul is FAR better than Suite 62 on XM.... AZcoyote is correct, it is soooo slow!!!!! If I were you I would write or call to Sirius urban programming and voice my concerns ASAP!! It can help to let them know that they arent doing what you want. You pay for it, express your views. Oh yeah, speaking of EXPRESS...bring it back!!! (I had to do that!)

Heart & Soul is fine. Slow Jamz is a little repeative because the 2 streams overlap so much. I'm guessing with the Slow remarks, you mean it plays alot of slow songs like Slow Jamz?

The Hot 25 comment was meant for Hot Jamz. Its the same 25 popular songs over and over with the same old hits mixed into the playlist. Now, that I've been with Sirius, I hate censored songs . I especially hate when I"m not listening to Sirius, and I hear the censored song and I know the words and its pisses me off .

The repeativeness could easily be fixed, if Sirius would stop after a song has reached played outness (is that a word, lol) and they just drop it from the playlist forever.

Examples:
Pop That Booty Marques Houston
Knock Knock Monica
Down For Me Loon
Pass the Dutch Missy Elliott
Victory 2004
Down 4 U" by Irv Gotti
Party To Damascus f/ Missy Elliott

Ton's of other songs fit this examples.

Its not like Sirius doesn't have the damn songs, they just refuse to play them and they wonder why the playlist is so damn repeative/boring...

AZ: I've spoken to a few dj's but that hasn't gotten anywhere. I can't find the e-mail address for the program director of Hot Jamz, Geronimo at all.

on sirius are they allowed to play songs that havent been officially released as a "single"? because if they can play any song they want off a album then they should be able to have a more spread out play list, because there are alot of good songs on cds that are never released as singles...but i was just wondering....cuz im not a sub yet so i dont know what the playlist is like exactly

Depends. Sometimes, they release a song months before regular radio and then it becomes a popular single, so I'm guess I will say yes (?) but they really do stick to the singles that the record companies tell them to play....

XM has a much deeper playlist (this applies to all their music channels), which is very good, but they ony have 2 uncensored urban channels, which is not so good. I have both XM and Sirius and I tend to listen to XM more for music and Sirius more for sports. Although I'm not a fan of his work, I'm interested to hear the programming on Shade 45. Hopefully it won't be alternating Eminem and G-Unit tracks 24-7.
