Default Thoughts on Howard Stern?

What is everyone's opinion on Stern's show these days?

I have never been a huge fan, but I have been listening every day for the last few months or so.... I think Howard's ego has become obnoxiously huge. Am I the only one that gets sick of him talking about how great he is? He thinks everyone wants to be just like him, he invented every bit or joke out there, and every other dj/radio personality the world is simply trying to copy him. His staff does nothing but kiss his ass for the entire show. They only let through the callers that want to tell Howard how great he is, how hot Beth is, etc. It gets really old.

I just remember the show being much better when I used to listen a few years ago... before Stern thought he was better than the world. Having strippers and hot chicks is ok sometimes, but they have done it to death and it gets old when you can't see them. They really need some new material.

And even I (as a big Sirius fan) get tired of him talking about his move to satelitte (eh-eh-eh). He must spend 20-30 minutes a day talking about it... give it a rest already. Everyone knows you will be on Sirius next year.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy parts of his show (good guests, funny prank calls, etc.)... and I will probably listen to the show some when he comes over but I'm not as excited about it as a lot of people seem to be. I think the quality of his guests will probably suffer when he comes to Sirius too... The "A-List" celebs aren't going to want to come on and put up with his questions anymore just to reach his much smaller audience. I am also concerned that his show will be too "dirty" on Sirius. I am all for freedom of speech and not censoring sat. radio, but I still want to be able to listen at work without offending those around me. I think Sirius is waaaay overpaying him at $100 million per year.

Not trying to start any arguments here... just posting my opinion.

His show goes in cycles. Good -> Great -> Good -> Mediocre -> Good. It hovers around good more than any other show I've listened to. Artie Lange is awesome on the show.

I wouldn't mind if Robin's TV show is really successful and she leaves Howard. She is the one part of the show that I could do without.

I agree with that... she adds NOTHING to the show.

Hey! How do you like that?! Finally something I can agree upon with Sean "Benedict XVI Jr." Robin Quivers is soooo annoying! All she does is chime in on things that never concern her. When Howard is arguing with a staff member and she just butts-in as if she's some expert or authority on the topic. All she's good for is that stupid cackle and reading the news verbatim from the AP Wire.

Trust me, Howard's show will improve tremendously when he finally makes it to "eh-eh-eh". His show over the last couple of years has suffered by having to monitor itself and all the censoring.

I am looking forward to Howard's show on Sirius!

Amen brother! FREEDOM! I can't wait either. He can't even do the show he used to do anymore on regular radio. It's bleeped so much it amazing.

Robin gets on my nearves sometimes too but the show wouldn't be as good without her. Kinda like stuttering John. I didn't realize how much he brought to the show until he was gone.

I guess you're not that Crazy after all.

BTW, I was ThePope for 20 years before this imposter calling himself (appropriately) Benedict.

Amen, your excellency! Rokk on!!

Hey, F.F.!! I do miss Stuttering John some times, but I do like Sal and Richard Christie, and they make me forget about Stuttering John every day. It's kinda like Jackie. When he was on the show, it was almost impossible to get a ticket to one of his club events, now that he's not on anymore, it's pretty easy. I was in Las Vague-Ass a couple of months ago and he was playing at The Imperial Palace and I walked right up and got a ticket 10 minutes before the show started.

Here's what he said in the link I posted.......

basically i lost my mind. drugs, alcohal, broads, depression, i tried to die laughing.... it didnt work... im not gonna do the whole asshole thing- buy my dvd and ill tell you... there it is.... i was allways insane and it got out of controll... people were frightened... all the shit you heard on the air -like what makes the show great- is real.... it was all real... if anyone gives a shit i tell the story on the dvd.. but that isnt the funny shit- well yeh it is... i roid raged on a bus driver once... i chased him blocks trying to rip him out because he beeped his horn at me. not stable..... anyway- the thing you need to know that Howard Stern is such a fucking great guy I would do anythng for him... I told him he could talk about all my insanity but he had such a good heart he kept quiet. How is that for integrity? Howard fucking rules and Ill go down swinging for the motherfucker anyday. Doesnt it make the show better knowing that the guy we love is a TRUE gentleman? he is the real deal and I love him to death. (purely sexual)

It's been a while now and about the only thing I really miss about Stuttering John being on the show is Fred busting on him.
