Will the E show continue after Stern comes to Sirius??
Wasn't sure what the details were with the E show contract. Will it continue once stern jumps over to sirius? I wish he could do the show on HBO, that would be nice, I'm sick of pixilations.
I don't think anybody knows for sure yet. Howard said he wants his new studio to have high ceilings for television lighting, and has had his E director Scott DePace involved in its planning. However, a couple weeks ago Howard went on a political tirade about how he thinks the government is leaning on E to drop his show. Evidently some Senator said something to the effect that cable had better clean up its act or face the same regulations as broadcast television.
I agree that the E show would be much better if it could air uncensored on a pay channel like HBO.
I heard Howard say today that the E! show will be extended until December. The contract was supposed to be up in 3 weeks. He did say that they might be going somewhere else, but he would not give out details.
I doubt they will be on E! when they come here. Uncensored radio deserves an uncensored cable channel.
My bet is that he rides out his deal with E until the end of his terrestrial radio term. Remember, Sirius will some day have streaming video. What's to say that Howard might not be a part of that in an uncensored format?!
It's been mentioned on Sirius that Stern's studio would have to be big enough to accommodate TV cameras...doesn't mean anything about E specifically, obviously. I'd like to see the show go to an uncensored channel as well.
The way E bleeps even SNL episodes, there's no way they could do a decent tv show from completely uncensored content.
I'm a big Howard Fan, but Howard needs more control and less censorship of his shows. Many people are turned off by Howard by the E! show, not knowing that asking women to strip is not the only thing he does. It confuses people. I would much rather see Howard in another form on TV. He has eluded to this himself wanting to do other things with the E! Show but content is always determined by higher ratings.
I think that Howard has been a huge factor in building the E! network and hopefully will do the same for Sirius. When Howard started on E! I never heard of it nor did I know any cable system that carried it. It's been one of E!'s staples ever since. Wherever channel does carry his show will definately benefit from it.

What annoys me, is that the E channel does zero promotion for his show on E.
I don't know---I don't see HBO rushing out to get the show.
Over the past ten years or so, HBO has become known for its quality original programming---The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Deadwood. No matter if you love or hate Stern, "high quality" isn't really a phrase usually associated with him. Add that to the fact that HBO seems to prefer original (HBO-owned) shows and I very much doubt that his show would ever appear on the channel...
