To my surprise Howard mentioned today that one of his stations on Sirius was beginning at the end of Sept. but due to contractual reasons he couldn't be on it yet. He said there are going to be a lot of 1/2 hour shows from people associated with the show. Howard had his father Ben on his show today, which was a funny bit, who might even have his own 1/2 hr. show too.......Testing, Testing, I'm testing for proper modulation.

Sounds good, yet another clue to the lineup "shuffle".

"I told you not to be stupid, you moron!"

To this day, the tapes of young Howard in the recording studio being berated by his father are some of the funniest moments in Howard Stern history!

The only way this could possibly happen is if it didn't violate his current contract with Viacom. Not knowing the specifics it's very hard to say.

September you say!? That is great, man i have really been out of the loop for a while. In South Florida we lost Howard a long time ago, and as a result i have no idea of anything going on with the show.

I can't wait to hear what's going to happening on his station.

Thank you so much for the heads up!

Thats one of his 3 Sirius channels, maybe we are being phased into Stern over the next 4 months. :p

It won't be long now... Before you know it, it will be January. I wouldn't expect any "Best of Stern" clips on until Howard's current contract is up since doing so before then would violate the contract and then he'd be up sh*t's creek without a paddle.

I understand the contract thing but what would be the problem with him just "droping by"?

question.... I'm on the West coast. Are there different Sirius streams for the different time zones? It seems like I'm getting the East coast time schedule(my receiver clock is set to pacific). If Stern show is on the east and assuming it's live like now, I'd probably be just in time for news but miss the first 3-4 hours.

any thoughts?

Dont take this as gospel but I belive I read a post in this forum that said His show would be rebroadcast in the west to accomodate the 6:00am west coast drive or something like that.

What would also be nice is a re-broadcast scheme (both east and west) that would allow listeners to essentially pick-up the show on the afternoon/evening commute where they left off on their morning commute. For example, someone who generally listens from 6:00 to 8:00am, works an 8-hour shift, then commutes home would pick-up the re-broadcast at 5:00pm roughly where they left off that morning, if that mornings show replay started at 3:00pm...

Am I being to particular in this thought process...I know that I would love nothing more than to hear the 8:00am to shows-end which I miss everyday once I get to the office...I guess it can't hurt to ask.

I would love that.Maybe 1 of his 3 stations will do a 5pm rebroadcast.Sure would cut down on road rage.

Sometime ago (when Howard was still being broadcast in South Flodia) he said something to the fact that he did not really want to re-broadcast his show. Something about it not "fresh of the presses".

But i also hope that the show will be re-broadcast during the evening.

I can understand his thinking...however, everyone I know that is a Stern listener would listen to the entire show everyday if they could...but most only hear roughly the same time slot each day... although I can understand the idea of keeping it fresh and not want it to be overkill, the afternoon commute would really be nice...

I'm for that too though I would prefer an evening rebroadcast as they do for the various shows on the NFL channel. :)
