As much as I wish he started on the first, I think this makes sense. People don't want a show to debut when people are occupied with so many other things. Also it could give him a slight chance of being at CES if he were interested. It would give CES 2006 a good happy ending.
Also I think retailers will be more than overwhelmed with orders in the month of December. People would go nuts if they didn't get their Radio in time for Howard. Now if you ordered around the 25th you could get a radio in time and have it installed. Keep in mind how many car install shops will be overwhelmed.

Man, i can't freaking wait! I thought as much, that the show would not start on the first of January. You got to figure the guy is going to be on New Years' vacation.

I believe he said his current contract expires on 12/17 or something. So, he'll be off the air for 3 weeks before coming to Sirius. He has said lately that his first show will be a Howard Stern roast.

He's been off the air in Florida for the last i don't know how long. I'm so much waiting for that first day.
