I dont live in an area that broadcasts the show, and am dying to find out how he handled this monumental broadcasting event.
Recap anyone?
Ive heard nothing but praise from what the other 2 did this week.
Sure i like "shock" radio. But everyone needs their every day guy to put things in perspective
Please help

You haven't missed it yet. Stern always takes off on vacation the last week of August and Labor Day Monday. His first new show will be this Tuesday morning, so we will all find out then how he will handle talking about this tragedy. He always claims whenever he is off the air, something big happens, and once again, unfortunately, he was right...

My brief summary of things I remeber Stern discussing regarding Katrina.
-Beth O's North Shore Animal League is to be sending vans down to the New Orleans area and rescuing the pet's down there and bringing them back to NY State until the original owners are found or find new homes for them.
-Overall sad feeling from The Howard Stern Show
-Was definetely disappointed with Gov't response time, highlighted strong gov't presence in Censorship but not in one of the worst disaster's ever.
-Mentioned that the FEMA director prior to being appointed by Bush was like a mortgage lender or a financial planner and that may be a good reason that the situation was not handled properly.
-Wondered if they were on in the New Orleans area. Answer was they were taken off the air months ago.
-Surprised by the high gas prices, Howard paid $4 a gallon for premium on Long Island and Ronnie noted $7 a gallon in Baltimore.
-Stern mentions the govt list of suggested charities and questions how The 700 Club's Pat Robertson's charity was once listed as the #2 charity by the gov't
-Commented heavily on the Kanye West comments about the President not caring about Black People and Mike Meyers reaction to that.
That's what I can remember at this point.

Marks friggin is great. i been reading it for a few years. He was doing the write up way before the HS website was even an idea. I think at one point when the message board was up mark was doing write ups for sterns site.

yeah, until the goons who headed up the project completely fucked it up. at first, he was just gonna write some stuff up and send it in. bzzzzt...
mark was then brought in as an actual employee, but then fucked that up too.
if you read MARKSFRIGGIN.COM around that time, you could tell mark was orgasming just at the thought of being emplyed BY THE SHOW.
and for a while, mark actually stopped doing the updates on his site.
then just like that, he said he quit. i dont remember what he said then, but it didnt work out like what he visioned or wanted.
good news for all us fans though, as he was back up to his daily deeds...
