Default Confusion about the 500 million

I want to get something cleared up. Is the 500 million contract Stern's salary, the budget for his show, or the budget for the two channels?

I belive I read in 1 of the earlier posts that the 500 is his budget.

It's a 100 million budget per year over 5 years for THREE channels and from what Howard has been saying on air lately, he is loading up the content bigtime. I can't wait for the Sept. 29th start.

I understand it's 100 mill per year to pay for his studio, the cast around him.

Too often people say that he is getting paid 100 million a year.

I also don't think all of that is guaranteed, I bet some of it is tied to subscribers.

He is not personaly getting paid 100 mill a year. He is getting 100 mill a year for Howard Stern the Corporation (if you will). He then needs to rent studio space, pay staff, buy talent.

It is not all garaunteed. In fact non of it is by defination. If he got hurt tommorrow and couldn't work, Sirius owes nothing at all. But a large portion (something like 20% of the 100 mill a year) is stock options so depending on what future value was assigned to those options it could be more or less than 100.

Recently I listened to the show where Stern announced his moving to Sirius. Robin played a news clip on the show which said mentioned Howard gets 500 mil a year. Next it says something about incentives. This seemed to be above and beyond the 500 million. The 500 million did seem to be the total salary and budget for the 3 channels he will produce.

I would like to see this clarified though.

Just go to google and look it up. There are about 168,000 articles about his signing with Sirius.

The deal is 100 million a year for five years. Included in that 100 million is salaries for his staff, himself, etc...

Howard dedicated a 1/2 hour last week to nothing but jingles about his new Sirius channel, Douche 100 (this is the channel that will start 9/29). What a great commercial for Sirius!
