Howard brought up that he was on fire creatively all weekend planning for his move to SIRIUS. Howard said that after a meeting on Friday with some people from the company, he was more confident than ever his satellite channels will be the biggest thing to ever hit the industry.
Even though his stations are set to hit the dial later this week, Howard reported that no programming will air on them for quite some time. He went on to explain that there are only two dates a year when a station can be launched on SIRIUS, so in order to make sure everything is in order for January, they had to put it up in September. Howard promised, though, that once everything was in place, programs will eventually start airing before he moves to SIRIUS.
Howard brought Sal and Richard Christy to his meeting on Friday to give them a feel of what it's going to be like at SIRIUS. Sal pointed out that Howard hasn’t been this energetic since he moved to New York. In addition, Sal said the move is going to be so innovative that he can’t believe no one has thought of this kind of thing before. Richard also mentioned that people are going to be blown away when they hear what Howard’s channels are going to be like.
Why do people care so much? I'll never figure out why people endlessly bitch about promo loops. You think they might want to get the channel up and on the air so it is ready to go when Howard comes? You think they don't want to do tons of little updates throughout the year instead of a couple big ones? Especially considering all the work they put into informing people one is about to happen?
If you know there is a promo loop there, just don't go to that channel again until it goes live. And don't tell me you can tell the difference in bandwidth allotment because one channel is running a promo loop.

Why are there only two possible dates for new station launches?
There are two times a year SIRIUS will do a channel update so to be sure this channel is available to your radio for January 2006, it had to be added now. The programming on an exisiting channel can be added at any time.
I posted this in the official post but I don't think anyone noticed it.
Jay Thomas just said that they will have a preview on 100 starting on Monday, October 3rd. I'm guessing it will be a loop until programming begins.
Isn't Howard in control of the channel? If he doesn't want anything on the channel until he has something ready (which he has said multiple times) then can they just put something on without his OK?
Or maybe Howard will have something ready to go on Monday...
That could be the case. He may have something ready to go on Monday but since Jay Thomas didn't elaborate, I'm figuring that a loop will go on. I'd rather be suprised than disappointed come Monday.

STILL NO
Sal said the move is going to be so innovative? You guys realize that Opie and Anthony are celebrating their one year anniversary this month on XM. Sorry guys, but howie isn't the innovator here, they are.
Plus, they will have many more listeners by the time Howie comes around

Really? I'll have to go out and buy an XM tuner again. They must be good...
