where did you hear this?
Listening to the show this morning since 6 am. He spoke about it up to the Shatner segment he is in now. Also stated was that "Jack FM" would be the replacement in several markets.
Matt Drudge from Drudge Report is reporting that Stern may be removed as soon as tomorrow morning on his website...www.drudgereport.com
Howard Stern announced today that he may be removed from the airwaves as early as tomorrow morning... Developing...
He said there are two scenarios. He is expecting to be pulled at 8AM tomorrow in a few small markets to be replaced with the JACK FM format. The other scenario is he is pulled off the air completely, but he wasn't expecting that to happen... Stay tuned... If they pulled him off FM early, and breached the contract, would that mean he could appear on Sirius before Jan then???
hes not going to pulled off in the big markets--Too much ad revenue would be lost --Im assuming the peoplewho pay for the commercials would get a refund in Stern were taken off the air??
and lets say hypothetically they did take him off, he would be paid and could not appear on Sirius until next year--But.. that doesnt mean he couldnt spend all the time planning his show, getting organized and taping bits for the show
The ONLY reason i can see them doing this would be to get him to stop talking about the channels--ie free infocommercial
too much commercial sales for this quarter that they would have to refund in the big markets so i dont see that happenning on both coasts--It actually works better for sirius if he stays on till end of year--FREE info-commercial each day
I think that many stations will try to take him off the air, or discredit him before the end of the year.
Yea, I think they're probably going to start pulling the plug on the smaller markets so it doesn't make a big stir. Then all of a sudden his infomercial to 12 million people is only making it out to 10 million. Once they start pulling that plug is when the subs should start coming over in mass. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
