Well...I hope to go to U Tenn for my Ph.D. in Counseling Psych in a few years. I love the Smokies and have been renting a chalet there the past 5 years for spring break. Always nice to listen to some Sirius while in the hot tub

Not too many satellite listeners here in the land of the religious. In fact, satellite is viewed rather negatively in these here parts. Many churches have convinced their flocks that only heathens have satellite radio. They distort and twist the no censorship issue to be one of parental control ( or lack thereof) and have most of their flock scared of the open forum that satellite offers.
Some of the anti-satellite advertisements here are downright comical in the connections they make, but seem to be working on some level as sales here are much cooler than in other regions of the country.
The bible belt has never been to big on open mindedness.
Buc...are u saying there are advertisements telling people it is wrong to get satellite radio?????
Yes, that is what I am saying.
There are a lot of them. There is a strong movement here against satellite. The thinking/rehtoric in the ads is that the un-tethered restraints of satellite radio is dangerous to children because there is no monitoring of what they will be exposed to.
And it is working.
If "good people" realize one has satellite radio, they immediately pigeon-hole one as a heathen and possibly anti-religious crusader.
Greetings from the top of Mounteagle! It's cold and rainy, but i'm staying dry in my truck. One of these days I'll get off the road for Christmas and spend it with my girlfriend and family. Otherwise, I'll be happy waking up in Tennessee on Christmas morning.

Huh? I've never heard any anti-satellite radio ads.

Depends on what stations you listen to. They were played frequently on AM 1150 and AM 980. There are also billboards in the Cleveland/Ootewah area a few months back.
well.. theres close to 10 bestbuys/circuit citys around with those large card board displays full of sirius radios, they are empty. I happen to be walking by and saw a sportster replay hidden behind something, i grabbed it... otherwise they are out of stock.
I know theres a repeater near opry hotel.. im not sure if there is much of a need for repeaters.. its not like we have large obstructions like a Atlanta or Chicago has... I think you would be suprised at the satelite radio population atleast in the nashville area.
