I live in Bismarck, ND (capital of North Dakota, located in south central North Dakota) and grew up around the Washburn, ND area (located approx. 40 miles north of Bismarck along U.S. Highway 83). Went to college at the University of North Dakota (GO SIOUX!!) located in Grand Forks, ND (located in northeastern part of ND). Earned a B.S. degree in environmental geography from there in May 2004.
North Dakota is generally flat in the east (thanks to ancient Lake Agassi [sp?] and gradually get more rugged as you head west (Badlands). Generally cold, snowy and windy this time of year, but the summers are usually hot and dry.
I usually have no troubles w/reception. I have more trouble with my XM reception. Tall buildings and even semi trucks have blocked that signal sometimes. Sirius' signal is a lot better IMO probably because of the satellites' positioning. The only thing I wish XM and/or Sirius would do would be to add repeaters in the larger cities (Bismarck, Fargo, Minot, Grand Forks, etc.). I doubt that would ever happen due to the cost and lower subscriber numbers here, but one can dream I guess!
I encourage everyone to visit the state sometime, preferably in the summertime!!
