Who knows, I might be the only one here! Anyway, I've had Sirius for a few months now and been very happy with it. I actually live in Minnesota but work in North Dakota and end up listening mostly in ND because I'm in my car.

Reception has almost always been good, except occasionally when I go under bridges or down tree-covered streets - but I have my antenna inside the car not on the roof which can make a difference I suppose.

At home I have an apartment which faces south. Sirius says to point the antenna straight up in this region, which obviously doesn't really work from inside an apartment, so I have the antenna on the very edge of my balcony and I get a good signal.

Come on everyone else, post too!

There is something about the middle of the country that I like. I don't really know what it is. Maybe it's the rualness of the great plans. Maybe it's the down to earth people. Maybe it's driving down a two lane road and seeing the endless fields of sunflowers.

North Dakota is a really, really nice state. I've crisscrossed it a few times. Grand Forks is my favorite city. If it wasn't for the really, really harsh winters, I would live there.

I94 and I29 make up the major highways in the state, but US2 and US52 are nicer to drive through.

I grew up in the Grand Forks area but now live in Texas does this count? I've been back with my Sirius unit and it works great up there. How can it not work great there as there is nothing tall enough to block a signal!

I live in Bismarck, ND (capital of North Dakota, located in south central North Dakota) and grew up around the Washburn, ND area (located approx. 40 miles north of Bismarck along U.S. Highway 83). Went to college at the University of North Dakota (GO SIOUX!!) located in Grand Forks, ND (located in northeastern part of ND). Earned a B.S. degree in environmental geography from there in May 2004.

North Dakota is generally flat in the east (thanks to ancient Lake Agassi [sp?] and gradually get more rugged as you head west (Badlands). Generally cold, snowy and windy this time of year, but the summers are usually hot and dry.

I usually have no troubles w/reception. I have more trouble with my XM reception. Tall buildings and even semi trucks have blocked that signal sometimes. Sirius' signal is a lot better IMO probably because of the satellites' positioning. The only thing I wish XM and/or Sirius would do would be to add repeaters in the larger cities (Bismarck, Fargo, Minot, Grand Forks, etc.). I doubt that would ever happen due to the cost and lower subscriber numbers here, but one can dream I guess!

I encourage everyone to visit the state sometime, preferably in the summertime!!

My wife graduated from UND and did an internship at the power plant in Washburn. I visited her there almost every weekend (she wasn't my wife then) when the snow wasn't hitting me in the ass that is. I love that part of the state! A good friend lives in Lincoln.
