Many of you see our fine state as simply a "flyover" state. Or have only seen it from I-80. Most of you probably think all this is all there is:

But there is much more to our fine state. We have a rich sporting tradition with the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers.
And Omaha is home every year to the NCAA Mens Baseball Championships (aka, The College World Series)
I have shown the rural side of our fine state, but there is also an urban side as Omaha is home to five Fortune 500 companies: Berkshire Hathaway, ConAgra Foods, Union Pacific Railroad, Mutual of Omaha Insurance, and Peter Kiewit Sons Inc.
We do have things things to come and see. We have one of the country's great zoo's in the Henry Doorly Zoo:
Great natural wonders like Chimney Rock.
And some bizarre tacky things like Carhenge.

You may have seen Nebraska without knowing it:
Movie Director/Writer Alexander Payne is from Nebraska. He is the writer/director of Citizen Ruth, Election, About Schmidt and Sideways. Citizen Ruth, Election and About Schmidt were all filmed in Nebraska.
Sirius things:
Left of Center refers to Omaha, Nebraska as the Indie Rock capital of the US. Omaha is home to Saddle Creek Records. It is the home of such bands as Bright Eyes, The Faint, and Azure Ray.
When visiting Nebraska, we are in the part of the country that points there antennas straight up to receive the best reception. I have also found that if you can, the North side of a building seems to work best. I believe we are one of the few states that has no repeater coverage at all (please someone prove me wrong).

Nebraska is where I call home. I am out here in Ohio now so another opportunity to post is coming up! I am Originally from Bellevue, Ne. For those of you who dont know (or care) just south of Omaha.
I still visit Nebraska yearly and bleed Scarlet and Cream on Fall Saturdays!! Thank God for Sirius!!

York and Grand Island are my favorite Cities in Nebraska. The company I lease my truck to is based out of Omaha. Omaha is a nice city. If anyone's seen the movie "Election", it takes place in Omaha.
Nebraska is filled with nice people and nice cities. It really is the real "Midwest".
Can someone please tell me why Nebraska feels the need to change its license plates every few years? It's seems like a waste of money and time to me...
