Default Introducing the SIRIUS Backstage 50-in-50 Community!

THE SIRIUS BACKSTAGE 50-in-50 COMMUNITY
Starts Sat Nov 12, 2005

The SIRIUS Backstage 50-in-50 Community (with the motto 50 States, 50 Days, One SBS Nation) is the creation of a new forum, with only 50 threads. Each thread represents a specific state, where our members can meet other members in their state and community, and represent their local pride!

Where does the 50 Days aspect come in? Well, each thread for each state will be locked initially. Starting this coming Sat Nov 12th, we will unlock one state each day in alphabetical order, starting with Alabama, and ending on Dec 31st. We even made the last day open for members from other areas, like Hawaii (part-time residents maybe), the District of Columbia, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, etc...

Obviously, the day we unlock a state would be the main day for members to congregate and represent their home state. We would like to encourage our members to sign up new members (like their friends, neighbors, workmates, or anyone who is a Sirius fan) on that specific day, and introduce themselves. Other members who might have disappeared for whatever reason can be contacted by PM or e-mail to represent their state on that day (and possibly rejoin our SBS community on a regular basis again).

Of course, the threads would remain open after the initial day, and the state's 'community' will only grow. In fact, we hope this program leads to local gatherings, and much more. But you really want to help insert a level of excitement on the day YOUR state "opens" up! Each thread will be led by the residents of each representing state, meaning YOU!!!

Enjoy this exciting new aspect of the SBS Nation!

I would like add something new to your 50-in-50 program. This would be a little contest to encourage people to post on the first day their state is unlocked.

Courtesy of TheSiriusStore.com, you can win a GRAND PRIZE of the all-new SIRIUS Streamer Replay PNP unit. The winner will be drawn by random at the end of the 50 days, after JANUARY 1st, 2006!

Streamer Replay offers all the features of the original Streamer plus the New "Replay" features: pause, rewind and replay your favorite SIRIUS content!

Features:
# 44 Minute Recording
# Pause Live Content
# Includes Car Kit With Dot Micro Antenna and Suction Cup Mount
# Compatible with current Sportster boom box and other accessory kits

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN: You must post on the FIRST day of your homestate's thread (ie: residents of Alabama on Nov. 12th only, etc...). Only one entry per person. Must be 18 or older, and a U.S. resident to win. All rights reserved. The winning party agrees that TheSiriusStore.com, SIRIUS Backstage, and all involved parties will not be held legally liable in any event.

Good luck to all, and I can't wait to see our local communities form.

Other areas is to cover Hawaii, Mexico, Canada or any other place that you can receive Sirius. Though technically it is not available in those places at this time.

So that makes 50 in 50.

i wonder about the wisdom of allowing alabama to be open for 50 days, while the last alphabetical state is only open for 1 ?

FIRST, a HUGE THANK YOU to Taylor and TheSiriusStore.com for the prize!!!

Also, gymeejet, every state will remain open. These threads will be a permanent place to meet people from your state and form bonds.

Great idea!

Great prize offered by TheSiriusStore.com! This should be fun!

But your "50" state logo needs some work! Add Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and Central America!

Great idea. I really like the way of intrudcing them too, instead of opening them all up today. Very cool.
