Default S50 Executive Docking Station

hey guys, new here. great site.

has anyone seen any pics or know of any info about the executive docking station? i think i seen one pic of it on the sirius site but i can't find the pic now. no retail stores seem to have it on preorder either so i can't find any info there either.

does anyone know when it'll come out? thanks.

Will this be a portable boombox? In the Sirius s50 instructions they describe it as a boombox.

It's a boombox, but from the pics it doesn't look like one you would want to take outside. It's very nice looking.

yea, i don't expect to be carrying it, but i'd like a nice system to listen at home. the home docking kit seems like you have to hook it up to an existing speaker set up which i think is not very elegant

We don't know the specifics about the Executive Docking System. But I suspect it will not be battery operated and will only be AC. This would be good and bad. Good that they'll be able to give it a decent amp, which will provide excellent sound. Bad in that you will not be able to use it portably, but as its been pointed out this doesn't look like a Boombox that you take down to the beach.

My understanding is suggested retail is going to be $299.99. So this thing is probably going to provide excellent sound.

i think i read in some sites that it'll retail for $149.99, the same as the sportscaster replay docking station. i hope it's not the $299.99 price you just stated or else i may cry, lol

I think you've gotten the Executive Docking Station for the Sportster/Sportster Replay/Streamer Replay mixed up with the Executive System for the Sirius S50. The Sportster Executive Docking Station retails for $149.99. But the Executive System for the Sirius S50 has always been reported to be $299.99.

Dry up those tears little Grasshopper and start saving those dollars. LOL

Crutchfield customer service says retail price is $150 and they're taking pre-orders now. No ship date yet.

(Executive system is the slimline desktop stereo, not a portable boombox.)

So it isn't on the web site, you must call CS to pre-order? I didn't see it on the web site is why I am asking. I hope that $150 holds true, because $300 is just too much.

But the Bose iPod docking station is $300. I love when I try to tell someone that Bose stuff is junk and for whatever reason everyone has the notion that Bose is top of the line equiptment. I always say, "ever wonder why the Bose display is nowhere near other high end speakers". They don't want you to do A/B comparisons.

I'm just curious why you think it's not elegant. I have the home dock going through my Pioneer Elite 56txi and it looks pretty good in my rack.

well, when i say not elegant, i mean, i kinda want it to be one single unit, rather than having to hook it up to something else. which is why i'm looking forward to the executive docking station. and i hope it's $150 and not $300. i may get the home kit system if the executive dock is too expensive.
