Default S50 Home Dock Questions and Comments (Discussion)

When I try to connect the Home dock to my computer via the included USB cable, nothing happens. The computer doesn't recognize that there is anything being attached to it. WTF?!?!?!

Push the rotating arrow symbol directly to the right of the docking area.

As per your request. This area is for discussing home dock issues (ONLY). If you have a problem with your home dock in any way post it here. If someone has a solution to your issue perhaps they can reply how they solved it.

Thanks,

Default Thank YOU!

Perfect timing to start this thread (just posted this problem below, but will post again in this thread).

My computer does not recognize the home dock when I try to connect with the USB cable. Anyone else have this problem?

Also, what's the point of the Home Dock? Would I be better off just getting an AC to DC (or DC to AC, whatever) and using the car dock at home (the benefit being that the car dock could beam an FM signal to the radios in my house)?

Thanks

Well that makes twice that you've posted this in the same thread. You seen the new thread, but evidently didn't bother to read what was in it? LOL

When I posted in this thread, my originial post had yet to be moved to this thread. I wouldn't post twice in the same thread just for kicks.

that works well with the fm transmitter. the only problem i found w/ using the car dock in my house is that the unit won't wake up or turn on to record. you have to leave it powered up at all times.

Default FRIEDED MY HOME DOCK

It was working fine for 2 weeks...yesterday i di some rearranging of my computer and "stuff" was listening to Sirius over the home dock..then lost antenna signal. Thought it was due to tht enew postion in my basement...so to trouble shoot I moved it back to an area I knew for a fact had good signal...and nothing...would not recognise my antenna....I leaned in a bit to get a closer looked and I caught a wiff of the dreaded...burnt electronics...if you ever smelt it you know what i am talking about if you don't then I don't wish it on you.

I have no idea what happened.....but the above post mentioned that the home kits are not gonna be availiable until february 9 WTF...did they build 3 of these things.....I really have been very pro S50 and Sirius during all the growing pains of the new technology..but come on lets get some of this stuff to market...I am tired of trolling the internet for this stuff and I refuse to pay triple on EBAY !!

I will be returning this to Best Buy for a refund..hope I will be able to get anther one relatively quickly, it is useless to me without home recording functionality.

Does anybody know of a store (online) that has the home dock in stock?

I cannot find any, but you might try online order and store pick up with your nearest Circuit City's or Best Buy's. Give Radio Shack a try. I have bought three home docks from Circuit City this way.

I've been trying CC every day I tried every store in PA and they don't have it..Radio Shack doesn't even have it on their site, last time I looked anyway. Best Buy doesn't have it on their site either. EDIT: I just found one in State College but that is too far out of my way...I wish it wasn't. I'm getting tired of using my car kit in the house, not to mention I don't trust the Radio Shack converter

Picked up a home dock on Friday at my local Circuit City. I'm very happy with it and the ability to wake itself up and record shows.

I stated elsewhere: I just received my home unit and S50 and while I haven't hooked it up in the car yet - I activated it yesterday and it has performed flawlessly. While I haven't tried to do anything very complicated - I did record my three favorite channels and used it in portable mode when I went jogging. It's doing what it should be doing and as long as it continues to do so - I'll be happy with it.
