S50 - Should I buy now or wait?

I'm shocked by the number of bugs that the s50 appears to have (although many of them have been fixed with the new firmware). If I were to spend $400+ for a piece of equipment, I expect it to work, almost flawlessly. What is everyone's input, should I buy the S50 now or wait? Also, when would the next generation come out (if that is the correct terminology). Around what time will they produce them so that they are almost completely bug free?
