I love the stern show but does anyone really listen to Howard 100 news? It is so boring. Their stories are all so completely unentertaining. If Howard makes fun of Artie for eating too many devil dogs, the news will do a 10 minute story talking to the guy who stocks the vending machines. What a bunch of crap. And the reporters all take themselves so seriously. It's really sad. These former "real" news reporters are now covering nothing but stories having to do with Howard Stern. haha. What a bunch of losers. They were freaking out last week when one of the female reporters (I forgot her name) was going to flash David Blain. They were bitching that it was unprofessional? These people really think they are professional reporters because they do Howard 100 news??? Absurd.

I'm with ya. I turn over to Sirius Left or NPR or even the replay when the news comes on. Some of the topics are interesting but something about the delivery bores me to death.
I never listen to it either. Seems like they cover stuff you already know/heard from listening to Howards show.
I don't know... the wrap up show does that as well but I'll listen to the wrap up show. Something about the delivery of the news that is boring. And I hate that stupid 'ticker' sound they run in the background.

I totally agree. I will always listen to the wrap up show if it's on. I won't go out of my way to listen to it but it's a hundred times better than the news. The wrap up show seems more like a natural extension of the show. It's them talking with Artie and sometimes Sal, Richard, and Robin about what lead up to something that happened on the show that day. Sometimes it even continues something that was happened on the show that I want to hear more about. So it's a decent listen.
The news on the other hand just tries to expand on parts of "stories" nobody cares about. They goes outside the scope of the show to shed light on something that happened on the show. The problem is, this stuff outside of the scope of the show is almost always stuff we don't care about. Like talking to the vending machine guy. Or stuff like, "Hey, Howard's doing a film festival, lets take a long and laborious look at the other noteworthy film festivals that take place every year." NOBODY CARES! And I also agree that the delivery of the news is horrible. Shuli is worthless. Penny Crone (sp?) sounds like she's been swallowing razor blades, and George Flowers sounds like my College Economics Professor. Not good radio. I think Howard should do away with the News altogether. That way I won't have to sit through the news to get to the replay show anymore.
The Steve Langford reports and exclusive interviews with David Lee Roth were great and actually consisted of real noteworthy news. George Flowers as an anchor works for me. Shuli as a reporter does not. I tune in to the news whenever I hear something good will be on and I'm usually satisfied. I guess I'm in the minority here, but I do enjoy listening to the news.
I'll occasionaly listen to it I'm I'm doing something outside and have the car on. Rarely. It is kind of entertaining but most of what we all care about that we didn't hear during the show, we heard during the wrap up show.
I don't know. It was cool when it first started but I think it's run it's course.
I listen to the entire show every day. I hear whats coming up at noon twice a show (I think). By noon I now all I need to know. Before 1/09/06 I would listen because it was new, and Howard wasnt there yet. At this point I dont even know why they are there. I would rather an hour of Ba Ba Booey songs than the news.
Howard 100 is probably a work in progress. It will likely take some time to figure out which features work, and which don't. If Howard 100 News doesn't appeal to most listeners, chances are in time it will be taken off.
I used to listen to H100 News before the official launch of Howard 100/101 but after Howard and Bubba debuted on January 9th, I haven't listened to the news at all...
I also didn't think the news program was big enough to add a second hour, the 12 pm air time. It seems to me that the news runs like 30 minutes then repeats beginning of the news towards the second half hour.
Never listen to Howard News, I spend most of my Sirius time listening to the 20-25 hours a week of Howard's show. Anything after that is catching up on music.
