Default Artie said something interesting about The Sopranos

I love the sopranos so now I am speculating... So...did anyone else catch this yesterday when Artie talked about going out with the girl in Beer League?

He mentioned that this Girl plays Chrstopher's wife for 5 episodes (She has been in 2 so far). Could this mean that the "Christopher" character could get whacked by the end of this season?

I doubt they would kill off 2 women in Chris' life.

Discuss....

Or maybe their marriage just does not work out.... Who knows. But I caught that too and thought, you know Artie I love you, but you probably should not have told me that!

There are supposed to be 12 episodes this season. Then they come back at the end of the year (??) with the final 8 episodes. I've lost track of how many shows there have been this season so far, but maybe there are only five left. Then they may re-sign her for the last eight episodes. Who knows?

That is why she is in five episodes: two thus far and three more to go. The final 8 episodes are scheduled for next spring - and David Chase hasn't even written them yet - for that reason, Chris' fate (as well as anyone else who isn't whacked in the next three episodes) will be left to the creative writing of Chase.

She has signed on for 5 episodes, that means she will appear in 5 of the final 11 episodes. Not every character appears in every episode. Christopher will not get wacked any time soon if at all. Although, the show is so unpredictable, who knows.

C'mon, you're trying to tell me that this season is the best one so far? Not even close, in my opinion. They haven't established one single cohesive story line this season, and there's only three episodes left. They should have walked away when they were on top. Chase is clearly just biding time.

*shrugs*

I haven't been impressed with this season at all... and I wasn't impressed with last season either. Don't get me wrong, I still watch, but The Sopranos is no longer the best show on TV. I think that Deadwood kicks the living shit out of The Sopranos... and right behind that would probably be Battlestar Galactica which has been more cutting edge in many ways than The Sopranos has been in years, and it's not on a "premium" channel.

I blame both the successes and failures on David Chase. I think that he got in over his head. When you make people wait YEARS between seasons the product HAS GOT TO BE BETTER. The show has become nothing more than inane dialogue and one liners delivered by supposedly "illiterate" mobsters. This plays well from time to time, but this season it has been nothing but cheesy little bits of humor, sprinkled over meaningless interactions. It's actually sad.

When they said, "just ELEVEN more episodes", I thought, well now Chase is actually going to have to DO something with these characters. Boy was I wrong. Mercifully, they then said, "we're adding eight more episodes" and I thought, well now maybe he'll at least BUILD TOWARD his characters doing something. Again, I was wrong.

Personally, I'm tired of hearing about "anybody is game for wacking on The Sopranos". Hmph, bullshit. I think that David Chase is afraid to do anything really drastic with his core cast and as a result we're getting screwed. They say there won't be any movies or spin-offs, but the way that the main cast has been protected thus far makes me think different. Think about it, who of any relevance has been killed? Adrianna? Big Pussy? Tony Blundetto? Ralphie? These are all "guest star" types. Nope, Chase hasn't kept the pressure on. He hasn't kept the tension high. It's just been bloody boring.

Peace

right now there are only 3 more episodes left. so they have shown 9 so far this season. but they have also taped additional episodes to air in early 2007. these episodes were taped when they did this season's episodes. so technically its the last season, but the last episodes don't air til early 2007.

This season IS just as good, if not better than previous seasons. The depth of the characters is being explored better than ever, and the story line is fascinating. Anyone who has watched the show for the past 5 seasons knows that Chase starts story lines and leaves them, and them picks them up at random. Chase is on top of his game, sorry, I disagree with you about him biding time.
