did y'all listen to the audio clip on the side of that page? The reporter sounds just like Doyle Redland of The Onion Radio News. And it seemed so Onionish anyway... WTF was that guy thinking??!?
What's interesting, though nobody mentions it, is that DJ Envy is on Sirius every single day on Hip-Hop Nation.
Howard should rally behind his fellow Sirius buddy and...well....there's nothing really they can do to Star! He was already arrested!! But maybe have Envy on the show? Hot 97 shouldn't get all the glory and look like the underdog here: let's let Sirius get some shine!!
A DJ threatens the well being of a 4 year old child, including rape, and we want Howard to get behind him? No freakin way. The guy should be ostracized and left for dead.
EDIT: sorry for the confusion. I thought Star was a part of the crew who made the threats. Too many wacky DJ names.

"Star" is the one who threatened to rape the kid.
"DJ Envy" is the kid's father. Ryan suggest that he get behind him since he works at Sirius too.
I don't know about "getting behind" him, but i'd sure love for Howard to interview both of them.
Talk about self destruction? Star even got my son in trouble, because when my son heard what he said all I heard from his room was "OH SHIT".
I can't wait to see which Hip-Hop artist comes to his defence talking about Damn,he was only playin'.He even had the nerve to claim that he is the next Lenny Bruce. That fool needs to get on the next shuttle flight and just leave the planet.

I think Howard is on DJ Envy's side because the threats are so fucking ridicilous. That guy needed to be arrested and fired!
Howard said that the whole thing is ridiculous, cuz "rap guys" are all just characters, so it's like saying you want to rape Superman's child. Nice, Howard..... So it kind of seems as though he empathizes with Star.
In my opinion, hip-hop doesn't really fit on regular radio. All the songs have curses and talk about derogatory things. Satellite is the perfect place for hip-hop, because it can actually exist without having to pretend like the fuck is really uckf. Star was starting a beef with Envy, because in hip-hop, beed sells. Power105 (Star's channel) just signed DJ Clue, and he probably wanted to solididy their spot as New York's #1 hip-hop channel. If Star had been on Sirius and said this, there would have been a verbal war, with Envy vs. Star, and though I hate to say it, both sides would have benefited. While the moral issue is definately debatable, this is what hip-hop has become, in this 50 cent era.
So, did Star deserve to be fired? Yes. Is what he did surprising? Not at all. Will he find a new home, probably at XM, where he can do his show in the true spirit of today's mainstream hip-hop? I think so.

I can't see ANY radio station or Sat. service putting a now known pedophile on the air again.I wouldn't give that fuckin' pervert 2 cups and a string unless he was gonna use the string to hang himself.
Not really. He would be a pedophile if ACTUALLY wanted to do this, and he got sexual pleasure thinking about it. It's not about the sex; it's about disrespecting Envy; in any case, he just said it to be shocking and disrespectful---I'm sure his intention wasn't to piss in her mouth. His intention was to piss off Envy!

Then his comments should have been about Envy and not the kid. He stepped over the line on many levels. Suggest something like that about my kids and I would do everything I could to get the person put away where they couldn't do it, JIC. Radio schtick or not, who the hell has those kind of thoughts towards a child?? I hope his comments come back to haunt him when he's somebody's bitch in prison!!!
