I have IO Digital Cable service in CT. I have seen this happen on plenty other on demand channels. It's most likely not the signal Cablevision's getting. I gave up trying to use their on demand services. They won't do anything to fix it if you call them either. They'll send a technician out and they'll say they found nothing wrong. There's really nothing you can do about it.
oren i feel ur pain, im in northern nj as well, and from day 1 have always had a problem, i re-order it every month, and bitch to cablevision everytime, and they keep taking it off my bill.....so right now its worth it for me!

Thanks, all!
phreek, how do they respond when you complain about the problem? Do they play dumb like it's an issue that they've never heard of before and recommend sending a Cablevision tech to look at it?
i tell them that it locks up all the time, and doesnt play, just like trying to acquire a signal.....the first time it happened i thought it was my box, so a rep came out dicked around with it for 2 hrs, replaced some cables and so on, didnt cure the problem, he left scratching his head, so he put me on file with IO, and i refer to it everytime i call up to complain...good luck!
My pet pieve with this OnDemand thing is that they DO NOT udate the shows fast enough. Today is already Thursday and the last show in my menu is from last Friday!!! Come on guys get this sht together this is un called for. I hate waiting a week just to see what happened today on the show. Bad deployment on somebodies part.
I'm actually more than pleased on when the shows are updated, though Waverider, for some reason this week has been slower. Being able to watch something produced a day earlier is astonishingly fast. Most sitcoms, and dramas air about 6-8 weeks after they were shot, and live talk shows are a bit different, but still it's impressive to me.
Perhaps the who Howard TV crew has been sick (throwing up) at home thinking about Siobahn and how nasty (s)he is.
