That was a great interview, but I still wouldn't watch golf if my life depended on it.

Was this guy the inspiration for Happy Gilmore?

It sure sounded like it.

I heard ESPN say that if he lost $50 mill due to gambling, he would have needed to make atleast $150 mill in his career to be able to lose that much. Not sure if he's 100% telling the truth, but he is one interesting guy, just not that great of a golfer.

Well, I think he made a lot of money from endorsements. PLus, he has been doing this for 16 or so years. Its very possible.

His official career money on the PGA is $8,776,552. But like you said, they make a large sum of money just on endorsements and appearences. There is nice money for him to just show up and play at a Europe tournament, corporate outings or teaching clinics. He also has his own clothing and club line now. He also has a reality TV show going also.

Tiger makes more just on endorsements and such then he will ever make on winning tournaments. It is winning the tournaments that opens the door to the big bucks.

John hasn't won that many tournaments, however it was his out of no where win of the PGA touranment years ago along with his massive drives that opened the door for him. Now it is more his crazyness that gets the money. What is more fun, watching Tiger hit it close to win or to watch John blow up and pull a Tin Cup and put 5 or 6 in the water going for it.

John Daly is a really nice guy...met him a couple of times. He's just a regular guy who can hit a golf ball a ton!

Great interview this morning, I couldn't get away from the radio.

Those quotes were ludicrous. Where do they come up with this stuff? I can almost guarantee that I could lose 50 Million without it costing me another 100 million or is that somehow expensed to him outside of gambling.

The way I take it is that he's only reporting the losses. If he had won 40 million and lost 50 mil, that's only 10 mil out of pocket. Of course the fact that he only plays slots makes me question the numbers. My wife hit a 1,500 jackpot on vid poker and they brought the payout with a tax form. I guess if he loses it all back before cashing out, maybe...
