Activated my Sirius sub on Saturday afternoon and have been listening to it non stop since! I guess I should cancel my cable now, hey!
I have been looking forward to walking the dog for the past couple of weeks. Since this station was the first one I listened too, i figured this will be a good place to start.
I kind of like Hits 1! They tend to add new music quicker than the local CHR (Z100 in NYC) does. Repetitions are rather high...lots of repeats...but that is a staple of CHR. I like that they throw in a few hits from the last few years in every now and then. The morning show is not too bad too...sort of a generic morning zoo.

Looking for help on Sirius/XM??
Since top 40 radio is so over done on the FM dial, I dont think I would have used this channel. I have it as my jump to station. That way I can start from the beginning of all my channels if I dont like whats on my presets. Not something I really listen to though. My wife does a lot though. She made sure Sirius had a station like this before getting it.
This channel is pretty much what I expected. No more, no less, no different. Not much to say really, other than that this channel makes me feel older. I know I am really out of touch when I don't know who the people shown in the OP are.
Ok, so i listened to this station for a couple of hours yesterday. I listened for a couple of hours at work and then again last night when i got home. I don't think i will be listening to this station very much. Its the main reason why I was turned from FM radio about 10 years ago. Top 40 formats isn't for me. I mean, I like a couple of songs that we played yesterday - Gnarles Barkley, etc - but i just can't listen to Sean Paul, Jessica Simpson, Usher, Kelly Clarkeson, etc. I found myself cringing for many of the songs. And I have to agree, it made me feel old and out of touch...
I find current hit radio to be too hit and miss... so I have a song-seek set for the one current hit that I really like: "Hanging On" by Cheyenne Kimball. Also like Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie".
Current favorite pop hits are the two Lily Allen tracks that LoC is playing ("LDN" and "Smile").

I have this station as a preset, but once in a blue moon, I do listen to this station. I like some of the Top Hits they play, but once they play some music I don't care for, I change it fast!
For the past couple of days I've been listening to the Morning Mash Up. I can only say that this show and channel is horrible (sorry Rich Davis... )
I've listened to this channel on the weekend a few times. I can't stand how they play the radio edits of curtain songs. Like I've posted before, I don't understand why the play the Radio Edit of songs like AFI's song Miss Murder. They shouldn't have to worry about how long a song is. Play the whole damn song!
A song like Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams has causing in it, so I can understand cutting out the causing. This is one of there family/business friendly channels. But don't cut the length of the song. And I know people have said they get these edits and just play them. Come on, Sirius.
I also have an idea!... Why not play only '90s song on The Pulse and play new songs on Sirius Hit One? If I want to hear older hits from the '90s, I should have to go to The Pulse. If I want to hear hits from say, Jan 1, 2000 up until now, I should have to go to Sirius Hits One. Make sense?
BTW, all you Paris Hilton fans...

This is a b preset for me. but its hit and miss for me. they can play a good song like crazy by gnarles barkeley but right after theyll have a kelly clarkson song.

I second that! I feel the EXACT same way. I found myself listening to one song, and then quickly flipping over for the next couple.
On the whole, I'd say Hits 1 does a competent job at top-40 pop radio. The hosts are about as good as any medium sized city hits radio station. They could probably hire better ones if they wanted to. The biggest complaint with how they program the music is there are way too many repeats. Some songs you'll hear for the second time about one hour after you hear it the first time. I mean, on a top 40 station, you should get about three hours before repeating a song.
As for the quality of the music, I find it pretty poor. But that's not really Sirius' fault. It's just that today's pop music is about as bad as it gets. There's no sense of fun in the songs. Growing up in the '80s, much of the pop songs had a sense of humor and were a lot more fun to listen to. Where are the goofy pop songs and one-hit-wonders that every previous decade had?
I must admit I'm way out of touch with current hit radio
In the spirit of Walk the Dog I spent a few hours listening today. The tunes are quite ecclectic, ranging from rap to country. There were repeats, but that's par for top 40 stations..
I could listen to this station if there was nothing else to listen to.. But since there are other things to listen to, I won't be listening that often
